Everyone has his or her own spirituality. Personally, I follow my own path and question what is being shouted at me. Reflecting on nature is also a good way to connect spiritually. It depends on one's personal path.

I'm so glad you wrote! Today's "church" service is so different from the practice of the first century church as to be an entirely different entity. The first century church did not gather to sit around and listen to surmons, they met in one another's homes for encouragement, meals, fellowship prayer, etc. It was a gathering of like-minded friends or even just a single family that had come to faith. They did not have "services" led from the front by a hired hand while they sat in neat little rows looking at the back of each other's heads. They ate potluck style meals and spent a LOT of time together.
Here are a few links to take a look at:

It is more spiritual to sit in the wood, as first off, the people who go to church (xians mostly) are hypocrites. they say that their god is the most loving god, yet they murder men, women, children, and even babies in his name, even when these people did nothing to them, just because they aren't xian. now, isn't that against one of the 10 commandments? secondly, true spirituality can be achieved by achieving inner peace, and it IS a little hard to do this when you got some phycho screaming lies right in your face. I am a Spiritual Satanist, and even when I was a xian, i found it hard to be comfortable at a church, i would much rather sit in the woods and think, I always found the xian belief to be flawed somehow. and now i know why. because they lie, cheat, and steal, and then blame it on the Satanist, claiming that they are devil worshipers (not true, satanism has been around LONG before christianity, so how can they be devil worshipers if they never heard of such a thing?)

I can not think of a better place to reflect than from the proximity of a Faerie ring in the wood. Usually I just go for the wood because Faerie rings are so hard to find! I do not understand why people have to go into a building to hear someone telling what you (a good Christian) should know because you have the book in your hands.

It is definitely more spiritually productive to sit in the woods at dusk; daybreak, anytime, then listen to some guy telling you that you're going to hell. First of all the one sitting in the pew listening to this, should really be asking themselves some important questions; "Do I like other people taking control over my life, thoughts and beliefs,,,Mmmmm..."is this tactic of fire and damnation bringing me closer to God?

Well this being a very strange way of asking this question, I would have to say that from my heart I do not listen or take to the bank of my soul anything that any one man tells me unless the holy spirit in my heart of hearts and conscience tells me it is correct. It has to be made completely clear to me what I am believing. Once that is accomplished I make my choices accordingly. I believe what it is that I hear or I do not, quite simply.

I'm tempted to say, "false dichotomy", but that's so technical.
I'd say spirituality is where you find it. If that evening fairy ring opens your mind to contemplate the grandeur of the universe and your tiny place in it, that's probably good. If that preacher is knocking a hole in your self-absorption and getting you to acknowledge your obligation to your fellow human, that could be spiritual too. I suspect the first example is probably more effective, but everybody needs different messages at different times.
Hopefully, a church experience is one of friendship, support and challenge to make the world better, but that doesn't always happen. And the woods can be a hostile, lonely place, depending on one's situation. Ideally, one can find the deeper meaning in any experience, even the unpleasant ones.
Spirituality is not always peaceful. Sometimes it hurts, especially when something important is being avoided. The best hope is to be in the right place at the right time to get just the message you need. If I'm not hearing the message I need, I just hope someone else is.

Honesty, i've sat in the woods at dusk and i've never seen a fairy circle, but in the silence i heard God talking to me.

Okay....how does one "sit in a wood"? that's for starters then lets move on to your 'fairies'. Drugs are illegal. Did your fairy tell you about that?
If you just want your ears tickled then go sit in the "wood "and fairy to the hilt. However if you want to live forever in Heaven with GOD then listen to the Preacher.
You are not your own god and nature is not your god. After the drugs wear off you will see this for yourself.
(I do hope this is not in too much "Church language", cause I really want you to get it.)

I don't have a man shouting at me to obey or go to hell in church. I wonder where you attend. Anyway, I'd rather be in the pew at Church.
Cheers :-)
