Hi, I'm a resident of MA and a student. I earned > $20K as an intern in KY, and zero in MA. Which states do I have to file taxes for, and what income would I have to report? Much appreciated!

Both. Non-resident in KY and resident in MA. MA will allow you a credit for the taxes paid to KY.

Both states. As a resident of MA, they will tax you on the >20K that you earned in KY. MA will give you a credit on any tax that you have to pay to KY on the >20K, but it's the lessor of the actual KY tax, or what the MA tax would be on the >20K. For MA you will file a Form 1, and for KY you would have to file a KY Non-resident income tax return. And of course you will need to file a federal 1040 return for your >20K wages.
