I noticed that friends and associates often ask me and other people to walk with them to the corner store, supermarket, etc. I do all of these things by myself, as I prefer to shop alone. Are people that afraid to go places by themselves? I never ask anyone to walk with me anywhere. If I happen to be going somewhere and a friend asks me where I'm going, after I tell them, they will sometimes say, Oh, well I'll walk with you. I mean I don't mind but, I don't feel as though I need anybody to walk me anywhere. Some people that I know will not even go to the corner store alone. What's the deal?

I like to be alone, too. For some people, it's a safety issue, you know: safety in numbers. I think they just want someone to talk to, so don't be offended.

Some people are afraid for crime, but there are many people too who just don't like being alone, even for a brief while. Which is the case with your friends I really don't know; is it a very bad neighborhood? Or are they the kind of people who always go places instead of spending a quiet evening at home too? It really could be either!

Your friends and associates must be afraid of monsters. Its much safer to travel in pairs and wear dark sunglasses.

Are people afraid in your neighbourhood? That would explain it.

Or people just like company.

maybe they just want some company. maybe they were just thinking you'd like to take a walk with them.
