being gay, adultery, blah, blah blah...Do you really know what it says? Or have you just accepted what you have been told to believe? Have you really went to God in prayer about these issues? Have you asked for God's guidance, revelation, etc...?

Have you studied the original texts? How can you speak so pointedly about so many issues, without being a theologian yourself?

That is like saying, I know what an artichoke tastes like...but, you have never tried one...you base your opinion on what someone has told you.

I challenge you not to be so quick to judge and make broad reaching conclusions without really seeking God's enlightment.

Just because your pastor or church says this is the way it is....does not mean they are right. Again, I bring up the issue of slavery...many mainline churches, (Southern Baptists) preached from the pulpits that it was ordained by God...now people finally realize...yeah, maybe they were wrong.

Don't blindly follow doctrine or people...

Hey JVM! The bottom line is this; Those whom the Lord sends speak His Words according to the Word of the Lord written in John 3:34 and Jeremiah 23:22. So the next time you hear something that sounds kinda funny, simply ask where it is written in the Word of God. And then go and read it yourself. We don't need anyone to teach us once we have the Spirit according to 1 John 2:27. There's not a church out there that doesn't add there own flavor to the scriptures. If all preachers would just preach the Word as it is written (2 Timothy 4:1-3), then we would have so many different churches. Think about that.

I my friend agree with you about only letting God make the judgements. Yet I read the Bible every two months non-stop because it is life for Christians. Now, from the old testament to the new Christ speaks against sexual immorality(Jesus is the Word, John1:1) Consider The Apostle Paul, he is the reason we know about God as he brought The Good News to the Gentiles(our ancestors) and he spoke quite clearly on the sin of sexual immorality(adultery, homosexuality, etc.) so it's very difficult to read the Bible and say "God says it's O.K." when He speaks so clearly to believers that it's a sin. How can one read the Bible and say " so I guess it's o.k. to kill someone, then." It's very difficult to do. I speak not from my own words but those founded in the Word. If you despise me for those Words I'll take your jeering, If I'm gonna be hated, let it be for loving God. I can't turn my back on His Word for the sake of someones feelings(including my own).

Yes, I've read the original texts, prayed and considered the consequences of sin....which is pain, torment and finally death.

Regarding adulterers...not only do you betray the trust of your spouse by doing it; you also inflict emotional wounds that run deep. Not to mention broken homes for little children. How can someone be trusted again after they have broken their solemn vows (promises) to their spouse?
If you have no regard for your spouses feelings, then what about their life??? Adulterous people run the very real risk of
bringing home a fatal and/or debilitating sexual disease (condoms do not protect from all STDs and if they break there is no protection). So I guess those that are against adultery are just Puritanical in your mind??? Is murder not a bad thing??? There have been plenty of people that have infected their spouses and have, effectively, murdered them.

Regarding homosexuality... homosexuals would like you to believe that they are "gay"(or happy) this is an oxymoron. Most homosexuals outwardly appear "gay" but upon closer examination are very bitter....not able to reproduce, troubled by their own consciences, wanting a monogomous relationship; but, either they or their "partner" resort to frequenting "others" for sexual gratification. Most homosexuals have known their "conquests" for less than a few hours hours. Meeting and /or having sex "causually" or anonymously in various places (such as "sleaze" bars, parks, public restrooms etc)

The physical complications of homosexuality include all of the STD's associated withy adultery; plus, torn flesh and muscle, infection (no rectum is sterile, quite the opposite is true), bleeding, severe constipation, yeast infections...the list goes on and on just like it does with any promiscuous persons. Aids is still most prevalant among homosexuals, when compared to any other group; but all groups risk their own lives as well as the lives of others with their "deviant" sexual activity.

Personally I see adultery and promiscuity as much greater threats to our society than homosexuals, as homosexuals make up less than 2% of ther population. Their deeds are nonetheless, sinfull.

Yes I have studied the Bible and Yes it does say that homosexuality is wrong, as is adultery. And I am a Christian and believe that. With that being said, I will say this to all my Christian Brothers and Sisters. God gave us all free will, and the Bible says that God will judge people when they die, not us. "Let he who has no sin cast the first stone. We can not force others to follow our christian beliefs. It is there free will to do as they wish. someone being gay does not effect you in any way, so just leave them alone. Let them get married if they want to. Marriage in this country is not a religious thing anyway, if it were then you would not be allowed to marry someone from a different religion. And please, causing physical harm to someone is a sin too, so please don't hurt omeone just because you think they are evil.

Its what God says , not a church or preacher. As for slavery and the Southern Baptists, they twisted the bible to fit their agendas. The slavery in the bible was much different then the slavery in the USA. Slaves in biblical days were treated with respect and had freedom, they were more like indentured servants, not slaves

jesus gave us a leadership and a living teaching church. without the oral tradition there would be no bible. the pope and other leaders of the church are to direct and guide the faithful, not personal interpretation or judgement. reading the origional text and scripture is important but from ther bible we see that christ clearly established for us leaders to direct us,after the 4 gospels is a prime example........the church gave us the bible not the other way around.

You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination.

Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers willl not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived(misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulters, nor those who participate in homosexuality, nor cheats or swindlers and thieves, nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanders, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.

There is no question about how God feels about the sins that you have mentioned in your question. It is clearly stated in the Bible. In this case He says it is an abomination. It hates it. And those who continue any of the things mentioned in I Corinthians 6 will not be able to enter heaven and be with Him.

One does not have to talk to God about these things He has already told us what He thinks.

One is constantly amazed by what people "see" in the Bible--small wonder Christianity has fragmented into thousands of different squabbling tribes.However--if--by some miracle Christians all turned around & actually obeyed Christs commandment to cease seeing sin in others--& just attend to their own faults---we would be living in a different world altogether!!

There are a lot of people who have not read the bible.
They go to church and listen to the preachers preach.
They have never read the New Testament for themselves.
When they say I know what the bible says, they really don't.

You are desperately tryng to get around the teaching of the Bible aren't you? What it seems to me you are sayings is, "If you think about this long enough you are sure to find a way to get around the simple and plain teaching that God is opposed to sin". Why not instead just accept what the Bible clearly teaches.
