What is intuitive for man and has been "law" is not what they really are.

People assume being able to stand up for yourself and knowing how to defend your right makes you powerful but the truth is that the most powerful position anyone can be is on their knees in prayer.

People assume that they are good people and going to heaven because they do good things but the truth is that God is only righteous and doing good is not always good. Many times it is altruistic and sinful becuase it is not Kingdom minded.

For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it. Matt 13:17

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven

These are the blessings of God.

These are the Christian Beatitudes, as found in the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount - the teachings of Christ in a nutshell, as seen in Matthew, chapter 5.

If you REALLY want to know what they mean...then here is as EXCELLENT explanation:

Jesus was spelling out those aspects of character and conduct to which a person must conform in order to be saved. And that becomes obvious, they say, when one looks at the fifth and sixth Beatitudes. It is the merciful who will obtain mercy and it is the pure in heart who will see God.

When we are down, we have no choice but to lean on Christ. When we trust Him we have access to His strength and power. We mourn- He comforts us, We are meek- He lifts us up, We are poor in spirit- He brings us joy and peace, We hunger- He is the bread of life, We are merciful- He will be merciful to us, We are pure in heart- we are free from the effects of sins of the flesh and we please Him, We are persecuted fro standing up for our faith- we are in good company because so was He and His disciples!

It means that humans are imperfect, yet when they strive to observe God's laws through adversity, they are blessed.
