It has it's pro and cons. The biggest pro is that it does more good for our economy. Companies pay them cheaper for labor when Americans won't do the job which is usually labor, janitorial, and landscaping. Not all immigrants who cross the border or fly over seas are here to do criminal activity. Most want opportunity because the currency is so low in their countries. Even the cheap labor is better than what people make in their respected countries. The cons are that they don't pay taxes. Most politicians don't either so what's the gripe huh? Americans don't lose anything with immigrants working cheap labor. They really don't ruin our country. I'm American, but I don't feel like they are a threat in any way. If anything, they lose more than us because they don't have full benefits for education or medical expenses. In regards to the tragedy in Virginia, it's too bad the girl died to a driver who is illegal, but not all majority of accidents or murders are by an illegal. It's definitely not the biggest reason to deport them. Anyways, I really don't think our economy could survive without immigration. However, immigrants should be legalized and documented for our own protection in the United States to avoid problems such as criminal activity like drug trafficing or other serious felonies. So Yes and No, illegal immigration is good for the economy, but can be bad in the long term if they are still undocumented.

I don't know if you meant to say legal or were talking about illegal immigration; nonetheless, immigration has alrerady done its damage. For instance, look at the population of the US. In the year 1965, we have 200 million people; 40 years later, we have 301 million and counting. Most of these numbers stem from legal immigration, which, entail, leads to school overcrowding, more calls for bilingual education, more people on welfare, more people on medicaid, more jobs takin away from Americans, etc, etc.
I am not saying that legal immigration is going to "ruin" the US, but as a country, we need to be aware of its reprecussions.

NO, immigration will not ruin the USA, BUT..... the illegal immigration with out control and by the millions and millions of poor uneducated people coming across our borders, yes, it will hurt and ruin the USA. We all have to put a stop to this madness.

If illegal immigration is allowed to continue, the country will continue on a downward spiral of lawlessness, lack of morals and lack of ethics. If the laws are not enforced equally against all and if only certain people are permitted to get away with numerous crimes that are committed by illegal immigrants and their supporters, then we will continue to have increases in lawlessness because you give an illegal inch and they'll take an illegal yard and demand an illegal mile be made legal.

It won't ruin the USA, but it doesn't help the USA.
As long as they pay little to the immigrants, the wages for educated Americans will go down, such as in the mechanical industry. Why pay an American $20 an hour when they can hire an illegal for $10, and get the same quality work done?

Immigration? No. It's what we were founded on. ILLEGAL Immigration? It could. Illegals are criminals. I'm all for building walls both at the Mexico and Canada borders, and being stricter on foregin passengers on flights into the country.
If you were to ask me I would allow the military to truly kick *** and get Iraq stable, then have them come home but keep the same budget for the walls. The I would send the sniper units to garud shacks at the border. Simple as that... but NOOOO we have to be politically correct.

As far as I know the native Americans are the only people who were hurt by immigration. The rest of us are likely the products of those who came here from all over the rest of the world to ruin their lives. I do not see that happening by the current influx but I do want them to come in LEGALLY.

Undocumented immigration has already put a huge burden on the legal citizens on the USA.
There has to be a way to get a handle on it or things will only get worse.
Immigration in and of itself will not- it is what/how the USA got to be in the first place. But everyone must be a contributing member of society for it to work.

Immigration has rules to allow people to enter this country. Lets enforce those rules. Get proactive, if they are not legal, deport them.
Either we come up with a plan to make them report they are here, fine them, and put them on track to become a citizen, or we have to hunt them down and deport them.
This nation with the exception of the Indians, was made up of immigrants and that is what makes this country great. Lets just do it legally people.
Don't matter what country you are from, Illegal is Illegal.
