Sin is “any want of conformity unto or transgression of the law of God” (1Jo_3:4; Rom_4:15), in the inward state and habit of the soul, as well as in the outward conduct of the life, whether by omission or commission (Rom_6:12-17; Rom_7:5-24). Sin is not a mere violation of the law of our constitution, nor of the system of things, but an offense against a personal lawgiver and moral governor who vindicates his law with penalties.
God forgives all sins except the one sin that denies Him. This sin ascribes to God what Satan has done, in that a person blasphemes the Spirit God that has been sent to call a person to righteousness. By saying with full knowledge "I do not believe", a person has in effect participated in the very first lie told in Eden.

According to the Bible sin is ANYTHING that is not of faith. So, whatever you do, if you do it without faith, it is sin. That, my friend, is a monstrously huge list. God is far more concerned with why you do what you do than He is with what you do. Remember, the Church is under the Law of Grace, not works. Knowingly doing something you know is wrong is certainly sin, but doing something questionable just because you want to would be sin too. Doing a good thing to bolster your personal image would be sin, even thought it was a good thing you did (i.e. giving money to a charity and then making sure EVERYONE knew that you did it). Paul said "Whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord, not unto men, knowing that of the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheretance, for you serve the Lord Christ." Motive matters.

Sin is an archaic archery term that means in essence, to miss the mark. In a religious context, it means falling short of the rules and regulations of that religion. It can, however, be used in regards to any set of laws. For instance, the statement, "I have sinned against God and man," implies that the confessor has transgressed not only against religious rules, but against the laws established by man, i.e.: local or federal governments.

Yeah that is true also sin is something someone does that God doesn't prove of but if we are willing to get his forgiveness and mean it from our hearts and that means to try to live right and not do it again he will forgive us. There are two different kinds of people in this world. 1 is saved sinners and the other is unsaved sinners. There is only one unforgiveable sin though but anything else can be forgiven but only if one means it and one is willing to change their sinful nature.

Sin is a concept that some religions thought up to control the masses. Nothing more.
