I need to drop about 15 pounds rather quickly for an event. I was thinking about having a slim fast shake (the chocolate powder mixed with skim milk) every morning for breakfast, skipping on lunch or else just having ramen noodles, and then maybe another slim fast shake for dinner. Do you think i'll drop any pounds if i stick to this for a good 2-3 solid weeks?

you could lose weight that way, but I would stay away from Ramnen noodles they are loaded with carbs, sugar an so much salt. stick with the shake in the morning and a shake in the after noon with like a piece of string cheese and a light sensible dinner- early in the night made up of mostly lean proteins and vegys ( protein will keep you fuller longer) and make sure you take a multi-vitiman
I lost almost 20 pounds this way in three weeks... it works and its healythy

Ok.. I've found that if you are not really badly overweight that slim fast will let you lose like 2 or 3 pounds but that's about it... I love the low carb diet.. it's the easiest and you really see the weight come off.. Slim Fast does make a low Carb shake too. So you could do that for breakfast, a salad with oil & vinegar dressing for lunch, and a small portion of lean meat and steam vegetables for dinner... Great snack when you are on low card is the Redi-Whip cans... good for a quick fix if you are dying... of course a good old fashion walk/ run couldn't hurt either! :)

I would just recommend you do something similar to that. I use to be one the slim fast diet, too. It worked out pretty well for me. I took the slim fast shake for breakfast and lunch. Then for dinner, I had something really healthy, but I do limit the portion size. If you do this, I'm sure you'll loose weight.

Replacing lunch with noodles is not good for you.

I lost 15 pounds in my first 3 weeks of dieting by counting my calories and keeping them at 1200, then I walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes...and did situps...good luck.

but i don't think you'll get enough nutrients with the slim fast/ramon noodles.

Ramen noodles is one of the most unhealthy foods you can choose. Youre better off with 3 slimfast shakes.
