It was once called "God's Friday", and "Good Friday" comes from that term.

It's not called "Good Friday" in all countries. In other areas of the world, it's known as "Great Friday", "Holy Friday", "Easter Friday" and many other names.

I have been trying to tell you as Jesus also tried to tell you, that all that came before Jesus were thieves and robbers, including Moses.

Men will deceive you, into believing that lies are the Word of God. This is why I tell you to believe in only the Words spoken by Jesus, in his Gospel. Peter and Paul are men.

Jesus said As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, but men have you convinced that the serpent that Moses had his people bow down to was not Satan.

Jesus was crucified on Thursday April 16, 33 AD at the 3rd hour and he died at the ninth hour on Thursday the day of Preparation. Passover started Friday at 6 pm. John 19:14 Mark 15:25, Luke 23:44, John 19:31, Matthew 12:40 and John 20:1

Jesus did not die on Friday, nor is Easter a holiday honoring the death or resurrection of Jesus.
Now again I give you Daniel's 200300 days, The Lord's Day is not the day Jesus died, nor was it the day he was resurrected, it was the day he was Glorified and ascended to heaven, the Promised Land.

Its called good friday because the Plan of YOUR salvation was made complete so "IF" you will BE-LIVE in Him enough to keep His commandments [John 3:16, 14:15] then because God so loved you He [the father] gave you Jesus [Jesus the second member of the Godhead gave Himself] but that plan was made sure when He arose again and God has now a way "IF" you will meet the conditions upon which your salvation is based you can be with Jesus forever, find out more free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com OR www.amazingfacts.org God bless talk to me also wgr88@yahoo.com

Why is Good Friday referred to as “good”? What the Jewish authorities and Romans did to Jesus was definitely not good (see Matthew chapters 26-27). However, the results of Christ’s death are very good! Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” 1 Peter 3:18, “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.”

Because it was when Jesus completed His mission to reconcile humanity to God.

By dying for us, He who was sinless and thus not supposed to die, opened heaven to us who are sinful and thus meant for eternal damnation (like what Aslan did in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe).

Thus, Jesus dead on the cross is His moment of triumph. He had refused to give in to the temptations of the devil to use power to extract the obedience and worship of man, and instead chose to follow His Father's will, which was the way of selfless giving, the way of the cross.

By dying, He conquered death. Death was no longer a thing to be feared, for it no longer necessarily lead to damnation, but a way to the Father and eternal life. That's a pretty good thing, don't you think? : )

Hi lovelyla....because Jesus fullfilled scripture prophecy and gave up His life willingly for all mankind, that we might be reconciled back to God after the fall of man (the temptation af adam and eve in the garden) on the cross Jesus said "It is finished" He carried out God's will, and it was good for us having our sins wiped out and remembered no more..hope this helps..~Shalom~
