Earlier I asked which religion non-religious people would join based on the behavior of its followers. The only answer that even brushed on choosing Christianity was a woman who mentioned Quaker (Society of Friends).

If we are to know you by your fruit, why is your fruit so appalling?

I have a job.

A zillion is pure nonsense. Perhaps you should take 3rd grade math again.

This is an excellent question. It's a bitter pill for them to swallow, but they need to hear it. Given past behavior, I somehow doubt they get the point, though.

Some bitter fruits are medicine to an ailing part of the body. Not all that is sweet is right to one's needs. It has been proven that too much sugar caused diabetes and diabetes triggers almost any organs disease to be deadly.
Like Christianity, there is a teaching that heals human weaknesses as there are also some that may blind the eyes to the truth.
Other religions too are the same. So, it has to be the believer's fault and not the religion.
You also need to learn basic math. Population including those who died millions years ago may not have reached zillions of people yet.

It is true many so called Christians give Christianity a bad name, how ever there is nothing new about this, look at history. I guess the point is even Jesus did not set out to win a popularity contest, in fact he upset many people. The heart of the matter is if you are looking for an excuse not to believe there are plenty out there.
It comes down to the fact that I have found a real treasure it just happens to be buried in a field with a few thistles growing. What am I to do? Forsake the treasure because of the thistles?

PS don't take YA as representative of normal life

I believe a lot of people take the label of Christian without actually following the religion. They believe that Christianity consists of going to church and participating a couple of pot-lucks and handing over some money. It doesn't occur to them that they might actually have to live the ideals of Christianity as found in the bible.

Yet - it is these people that we see the most of. Not those who go about their lives quietly and living the way Jesus taught. But those who proclaim that they are Christian, that they are saved and all those that are going to hell that don't believe the exact same way as them.

This may be why Christian fruits seem so appalling to us. Because we are not really seeing a real Christian but a false one.

I think I'll have a fruit salad. Just cut out the bitter and rotten parts of everyone's fruit and enjoy the ripe, juicy goodness of all the fruits!

No everyone practices their religion as it is meant to be practiced. It should be wisdom to know the difference between judging some verses judging a larger sample of the group. Prejudice comes from judging a whole group based on your experiences with a few.

because of loud ignorance of people that generalize all christians as the snake kissing, rolling down the aisles, fire and brimstone, you're gonna go to hell if you look at the underwear section of the sears catalog type of so-called christian.
Jesus taught for us to be ye kind one to another, do not judge lest ye be judged by the same measure, he who is without sin cast the first stone, do not try to remove the speck from your brother's eye until you remove the log from your own, and the most important one, which i learned in kindergarten before i really knew who Jesus was and that is...do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
i do not come to this section to condemn ANYONE due to their beliefs, but it is my prayer that by my kindness and earnest honesty may set a Christ-like example to a non-believer, and they may want the same, simply because i follow His teachings.
it really helps to investigate any life changing choice you may make....there are tons of unsaved souls that go to church every day, wether it be a protestant, catholic, mosque, shrine, altar or whatever....and i would like to be informed enough to talk to a muslim, hindu, jew, or any other non-christian about their beliefs so that i can ask intelligent questions that may make them say...hhmmmmm, and see, what i believe, is the falsehood of whatever they worship.

I didn't see your earlier posting. But I have to say that you do not need to belong to a certain religion in order to be a Christian. I am a Christian and I try to exhibit a life of kindness, love, forgivenss and selfless behavior. I try to lead a life that will exhibit Jesus and His love. What is bitter about that?

I don't understand your definition of bitter fruit from Christians. Maybe people don't like the word of God (the truth) Christians preach from the Holy Bible. Just what is appaling about our fruit? What have we done besides telling about God's wrath that is soon to come like God told us to do?
Please give examples of our appaling and bitter fruit.

Calm down now. Reach down and pull those tight drawers out of the crack of your butt and And don't bust a blood vessel. Yes it's ok just a little scratch. Now calmly go set in the chair by the front door. We are sending someone in a white suit for you. She will have something to calm your nerves
