how about a slingshot that's held back by a hook which is released by some other contraption.

One of the small energy becoming that monster in the cloud. U start off with a kettle on a stove being heated. As the steam starts they will be a cooling of the water. Each cc that is evaporated will absorber 60 calories . That same energy will be released when the steam or cloud condenses . If there is a severe cold front that collides with the moisture and it condenses it quiskly it will be a severe storm but most dont understand where the energy comes from.

Catapult, mouse trap, falling arm (that swats the ball), diet Coke/Mento propulsion, guided balloon, spinning plate, cat paw, baby (ping pong ball drops into high chair containing overfed baby who pitches ball back like another piece of food), small explosions, snoring sleeper, animal escaping through cat door which swings back to hit ping pong ball, pinball flipper, woman seeing mouse (a stereotyped, but useful energy source)
