Analog clocks still serve a purpose. In both aviation and maritime operations, the analog clock (called a chronometer) serves as a visual reference for portions of time. Human beings tend to compute proportions visually in their mind. For instance, regardless of where the minute hand is at any given time, 1/4th of a revolution is 15 minutes, 1/2 a revolution is 30 minutes etc. Time proportions are much easier to compute on an analog disc clock whereas a digital requires actual addition and subtraction of real numbers as opposed to proportional estimations.

Why do we still have manual transmissions? Because some people prefer things as they were. Plus analog clocks still have functionality and are generally more stylish. That being said, I prefer digital as well.

Simply because when a digital clock goes off, its "off"...no numbers showing or anything.

When an analogue clock goes off, you "know" what time it went off and at least know that its past "that" time, if you see its stopped.

I wish you well...

Maybe because some people like the history that went into old clocks.

They are attractive and inexpensive, and people are used to them. There isn't much to choose between analog and digital, as a flashlight cell can run either type for a year or more.

well thats your problem. they have digital clocks. why don't you just GET you one. and stop complaining about the analogue clocks. its not the CLOCK'S fault that you can't tell the time.

Simply because the majority of the population is not as dim-witted and can read a clock.

Because some people actually like them. If you don't, then get a new one.
