Well, I am baptized and I actually have to go to church twice a week because I am Catholic and I go to the Catholic School next to it. Should I maybe slack off one or two masses a month?

Ok, they do teach me about mortal sin in my school, and I am not trying to be mean but I do go to church ALOT because I believe in Jesus Christ! And, uh, you won't go straight to HELL if you don't go because my Uncle married a non-catholic and they sometimes go to church but their baby was baptized!

Catholicism does not depend on how many times you go to Church. It depends on your actions. Many see Church as a way to refocus their lives back on God and to find peace. If going to Church does not help you, then it doesn't mean you need to go. But that doesn't mean you don't still have to act Catholic. Mass should not be seen as something you could "slack off" to me, put that is personal. If you truly feel you would be happier without Church, don't go. But if you find yourself sinning more and being less Catholic, maybe you still need a tune-up with God more. There is no set times you have to go to Church to be considered Catholic. You decide what you need, and no one else.

As a Catholic, you are obligated to go to Mass EVERY Sunday and Holy Days of Obligation.
Why would a person slack off going to Mass? Why slack off receiving the Holy Eucharist and participating in the greatest pray of all - the Mass?
You say that you have a lot of faith. This is the result of going to Mass twice per week. If you want your faith to remain strong and get stronger, do not slack off going to Mass.

I was born and bred Catholic. My family and I always attended Mass only once a week, every Sunday. I went to public school instead of Catholic school, because there was no Catholic school where we lived. I attended Catechism after school once a week. At present, my husband and I attend Mass only once a week every Sunday. My children did not attend Catholic School either. And like me attended Catechism after school once a week. If you are required to attend twice a week, then you should do so. the only time you should "Slack off" is when you are too ill to attend Mass.

Ah, keep the sabbath day Holy.
You're a sucker chump if you can actually purposfuly miss mass ... it starts Saturday night ... and goes though Sunday night. You have to goto confession if you miss mass.
"Catholic Duty" is to take the Eucharist yearly (preferably at Easter); which means you have to goto confession if you missed mass.

You should be attending a mass every Sunday from what I remember back when I was a little kid in a mostly Catholic country (Poland.) I do not observe this anymore.

Only if you want to go directly to Hell. Don't they teach you about mortal sin in that school?
