If you are overweight, the problem can often be solved by losing weight. If you are not overweight, what you have is called gynecomastia (male breast enlargement) and it is very common condition in men. In other words, you are not alone.
However, the good news is that, since you are only 18, it is part of puberty and will probably go away! During puberty, hormones cause the tissue to swell and this will subside as puberty progresses (boys stop growing at 21 so the breasts should be gone by then). However, you should see your family doctor who will monitor it to be sure it does go away and that your breasts do not continue to grow.
If you still have the problem when you are older, surgery can be used to remove breast tissue if the breast are abnormally big and causing psychological problems. Unfortunately, surgery is the only treatment...exercise, dieting, etc. will not work.
