That depends entirely on how high her fever is. At one year, she likely has a cold, that will not respond to antibiotics in any case. If her fever goes over 104, then you will want to take her to a doctor, but under 104, kids tolerate fevers quite well and it is unlikely to be anything other than a virus (a cold). I treated my kids with pediatric Motrin and Dimetapp. Follow instructions on the labels. Give her tepid baths for comfort, and lots of liquids.

I had the exact same problem with my 6, 5, and 1 year old. Instead of trusting my instincts, I took them all to the emergency room, and I am still receiving bills in the mail. LOL. Alternate Tylenol and Motrin every three hours. Buy a bottle of Pedialyte or the Pedialyte freezer pops. Orange juice, water, lights soups and crackers (heavy foods cause much upchucking). Also, let him or her sleep with a hot steam vaporizer on (with the liquid Vick's). If this doesn't work within a few days, she may have a bronchial infection. You may have to consult a doctor to get Amoxcillin to get rid of all the mucus. Hope he or she feels better soon.

I dont think it is the flu - it sounds like the common cold. Unless her temperature is really high, I think you can just get her some infant tylonol and wait it out.
HOWEVER - if her temperature goes any higher than 102 (it gets dangerous around 103/104 for children) than bring her to a clinic or emergency room right away. Also, if symptoms persist for longer than a week, I would bring her to the family doctor to rule out infections.
hope this helps!

It soundslike a cold or flu to me.I've never seen with my kids any kind of cold/flu symptom (mucous) acompany teething. If you decide to go to the Dr.( which I recommend if it doesn't seem to get better by day2-3 or if the fever doesn't go down)& your child is given antbiotics I do recommend a probiotic which can be prescribed by your Dr. or you can do it the old fashion way, having your toddler eat alot of yogurt( it contains probiotics). For now I'd say do the over the counter thing like Triaminic for kids but I can only speak from experience I am not a physician.Best of luck.

Since she is running a fever I would go ahead and take her to the doctor to be sure she doesn't have and infection that will require antibiotics to clear it up.Keeping her hydrated is very important with fever. My son had the flu around Christmas. His doctor perscribed Tamiflu . It is a medicine that helps reduce the severity and shorten the duration of the flu. I believe it REALLY helped my son alot. It is worth the trip to the doctor for piece of mind.

tylonol and motrin will help bring the temperature down... seems like she has the flu...
I'm not sure about the "yellow bugers" - but anyway i think you should see a doctor.
In the meantime tylonol and motrin and...
HOME REMEDY:
for her cough... if she has a sore throat this should soothe it. Only one glass of:
Milk
mixed with
Honey
it soothes your throat so much!
but seriously i'd take her to the doctor

a lot of children do not do well with herbs and teas. if it has been only a day just push fluids. yellow boogers may be dehydration. the children's medicine is for the fever. if it goes as high as 101 call the doctor. a fever in a child can be dangerous

If the temp is very high or colored mucous take the child to the doctor. You can't fool around with an infection or a child's health. Hope your little angel is better soon.

If the mucus, "buggers" are yellow that is a good sign of bacterial infection, so is the temp. She will need antibiotics so take her to the doctor.

It's hard to tell b/c those symptoms can mean a lot of different things...she really needs to be seen by a doctor for an official examination/diagnosis.
