Beware of people saying they sell "Chihuahuas". Sometimes they have Chihuahua features, but are very fat, tall and big. A true Chihuahua will be very small as a puppy and go from very small to just small as an adult..
If you have a friend that already owns a Chihuahua and you like the size the dog is, bring the dog with you to see the other dog, and you can compare them, if the prospect Chihuahua puppy is the same size as the adult dog your friend has, dont get it. If it is significantly smaller, I'd say is good.
Another rule of thumb is gently touching the head (of the puppy). It should have some sort of hole and the very top of it. Pure blood chihuahuas have that hole.

well that depends. there are chihuahua mixes and prebreds. We paid almost $800 for are little guy. he was 8 weeks old when we got him and he is almost 2 years old now and weighs about 5 lbs. He is a purebred with papers and we found him on craigslist. Many of the local shelters also have chihuahuas, some mixes some purebred and you would pay for an adoption fee of about $100-$150. You can also find shelter ads on craigslist as well under "pets" Hope that helps a little!

Depends on where you live and if you want long or short haired and if you want male or female.. I live in Louisiana and a long-haired female Chihuahua will cost about $800 and a short haired female around $600. The males can be around $250 - $350. I have a long-haired male.

About $50-$80 from your local Chihuahua rescue organization - There are TONS of unwanted dogs in shelters!

Depends on where you live and what the breeder you get it from charges. Check your local shelters. They do get all breeds of animals in and alot of full blooded ones as well. I got two chihuahua pups from ours they were sisters and I also got their mom. We were fostering them but ended up adopting all 3 of them. What can I say I am a sucker for a cute face and a good laugh! Good luck!

You would need to go to a respective breeder. The cost can range from $500.00 to $1500.00. Have the puppy checked by a vet before you purchase.

look in the classifiads. if you get it from a breeder, and it is champion sired,bloodlines, registed in the ckc or akc, heath guarete, etc, it should be a good $600.00 and up. i fyou just want a purbreed, no champion stuff, it should be a good $300.00 and below.
