I was pulled over for speeding (42 in a 30). I had .5 gram of marijuana and about .5 L of alcohol (I'm underage). The police officer let me go without even a ticket, but will it be noted on my record and I'll have a hard time if I ever get pulled over again? This is NY, if it is relevant.

I got answers, but just to make sure... they don't even note in on some sort of "internal use only" police database or anything?

It wont go on a permanent record - but we have an internal database where "alerts" can be listed - you would likely be listed as "drug user". Next time your name is run, the dispatcher would tell the officer about the alert and he would know what he should look for. Just say NO!

Well only the cops will know that wouldn't they? Like some special secret underground conspiracy within the department.
J/K If your that paranoid I'm surprised he didn't pick up on that and write you a ticket (a fine for the possessions). And maybe you should think about lightening up on the dope smoking, you know what they say; it causes paranoia.
Dude, they don't care about petty s*** like that. As if he's gonna remember all your info by the time he even gets back in his car. He may remember if he also happens to be the one to pull you over the next time.
And just for your information you will never (OK, most likely never) have to worry bout cops giving you a hard time so long as you don't give them a reason to. I have had many encounters with police officers in personal and professional ways, and by being respectful and saying only what needed to be said (which is almost nothing, but always the truth) have been able to have positive outcomes each time.

If you were let go without any ticket, the cop wanted your weed for himself....
No ticket, no record. However, that doesnt mean that the cop wont keep a mental record of you and your vehicle, so that he will know where to find free pot next time he sees you. I know - same thing happened to me when I was 17yo in Pinole, California. Small town, and I lived there. He let me go - but every Friday night, if he saw me, I was pulled over and searched for no reason...

Once you are released with out a ticket, you are free to go and nothing will happen to you record. But if you did it again and he pulls you over, he might remember you and then give you a ticket for sure. Most police know who belongs in their area and who doesn't.

There is this one thing called the Field Interrogation/Investigation Card which some officers will use to take notes. This is then turned in and is kept on file at the station. If you were to go through some kind of thorough background check for something, someone may be able to come across this "F.I Card"

No record. The only record that exists, says you were pulled over and thats it.
