Well I have to put on rubber prickle gloves when I go Nettle picking for the nettle beer and tea. Its to defend my hands from the stings and the brambles that the nettles are sometimes sitting with. I wear my glasses in the Sun to protect my sensitive eyes. Are those some clues for you? I hope so :) The fact is that I as a Christian don't always live in the reality that in fact Jesus is the prickle gloves and the glasses. And that protection from others words aren't really needed.

I don't think it's so much a need to defend themselves but they like to prove themselves right. It's not just the religious but it's human nature. We like the feel of superiority and therefore we will ride on whatever we can to get the 'feel' of it. The religious people are just a little more obvious as a group and more criticized because they are supposed to be representing the One that didn't ride off this disease called "self righteousness" and yet He was the most Superior to all except that He never took advantage of the fact that He was the only Son of God. [how ironic, right?]

it just they way it's going.
explaining why they're accepting Gay priests,
when gay union is against god, would b a good start.
defending?
they have much 2 defend, that hypocritical message would b a good start, eh?
god deems gay union an abomination.
we have a battle-field in the UK over gays adopting/fostering children debate, trying 2 de-homophobia religion is destined 2 cause a back-lash.
the fact that the UK is soon 2 become a Gambling Haven, which is also against the Bible, yes gambling is against god 2.
they have much 2 defend
they should stand up & say something rather than sit silent.

If a persons faith is firm then there is no need to defend oneself! On the other hand if a persons faith is weak and unstable, then there is great need for one to defend oneself!
What ever qualities are on the inside of a persons heart will be reflected outwardly. If a doubt surfaces within the heart then the doubt will manifest itself on the outside, and this will cause man to defend himself. The ego is very stubborn indeed, yet is tested easily!
Patience is need on the inside as well as the outside. When inner and outer patience wane, our faith is diminished and needs to be renewed.......Defending ones beliefs is a form of false renewal.......

Why do you think they are defending themselves? You only defend yourself when you are being attacked or when you think your opinion is right. People who have this need to attack or purposely want to rile another person, are insecure and vulnerable about who they are and what status they hold within themselves. If you are confident and mature, you would listen to what the other person is talking about and you never know, you might even agree or learn something new.

Religions are of man, Not of God.They are wrong and devide Nations and its people's. They come about by powerfull men's ideas of how God should be praised.
There is ONLY God Jesus and the Sword.
Andrew and Simon new this, and so did all the twelve.
Tell me what religion were they ? There were no catholics or the like when Jesus walked the earth.
There are founded on mens ideas, thats WHY.
