When I die, or when Jesus comes back (whichever comes first), I wonder what the afterlife will be like. Sometimes it depresses me, because I think about certain unpleasant aspects.

How will we all feel when we see that some of our departed loved ones are NOT there???

Is being dead like dreaming?

Will heaven have that idyllic feel...the experience of being in heaven...will it be similar to that detached, hazy experience of dreaming? Or, will it be "real", in the sort of way that living consciousness is?

Will I know the people there? What will we do there? What will "life" be like?

Have you ever thought about these things?

I don't know exactly what heaven will be like, yet. Scriptures offer a lot of clues about how wonderful it will be. At times the power and beauty of the Holy Spirit leaves me without words, and heaven is to be even more amazing than that!

The depressed feelings you describe, I had those too at first. Worrying about the kids and such. Each person that I love, I pray for. I continue to pray for them, and stay in close contact with them while they are growing in the Holy Spirit. I ask the Lord to help my life be His message of understanding to those I love.

I think about the dead and wonder about the spirit (soul). We read that the dead sleep and we are told flesh is in the ground, returned to dust. So, the spirit is asleep which indicates a dream state is possible. I am searching for the True understanding of dream state.

Living consciousness without a doubt, and combined with the awesome sensations of dreams. It will be real, but the reality is unexplainable in this world.

We will know people there. We will serve God according to His plans for us, and it will be delightful. Hard to say what it will be like, but I think it may be a glorious extension of what my life is like right now.

I've thought about these things since I was old enough to form thoughts.

There are people who have been taken there in visions or via near death experiences. They didn't seem to be in any rush to come back. This is an excerpt from a vision Rick Joyner had:

Looking me straight in the eyes, he continued, "The Lord also loves us with a love greater than you can yet understand. Before His judgment seat I tasted the greatest darkness of soul and remorse that can be experienced. Though here we do not measure time as you do, it seemed to last for as long as my life on earth had lasted. All of my sins and follies which I had not repented of passed before me, and before all who are here. The grief of this you cannot understand until you have experienced it. I felt that I was in the deepest dungeon of hell, even as I stood before the Lord. He was resolute until my life had been completely reviewed. When I said I was sorry and asked for the mercy of His cross, He wiped away my tears and took away the great darkness. He looked at me with a love that was beyond anything that you can now understand. He gave me this robe. I no longer feel the darkness or bitterness that I knew as I stood before Him, but I remember it. Only here can you remember such things without continuing to feel the pain. A moment in the lowest part of heaven is much greater than a thousand years of the highest life on earth. Now my mourning at my folly has been turned into joy, and I know that I will know joy forever, even if I am in the lowest place in heaven."

"the dominion of God is interior you." I presume that refers to heaven. i imagine you may locate it your self. curiously it really is now complicated because in simple terms parsimonious pipsqueaks status up in the front of church homes declare to have discovered it -- however none of them agree on something. it really is no longer in dogma. it really is no longer in Greek, Latin, Sanskrit, English, or Arabic. it really is nowhere close to any sermon. it really is no longer in any e book. i imagine that's a personal search for. i imagine it calls for interest. the search calls for you to question... each and everything. belongings you know to be genuine -- question that too. question the reality? certain; How else did you know it really is genuine? If it would not face as a lot as mere mortal scrutiny, what probability does it fairly must be fairly genuine? yet reality will keep coming back. you won't be able to get faraway from it. So, if, on your journey to heaven, you by twist of destiny throw away some reality, you'll run throughout the time of it back. per chance, in that way, you'll comprehend it because the reality.

I always think about what Heaven will be like .. but honestly i dont care about ANYTHING in Heaven - but seeing God and my loved ones who passed. No one knows what heaven is like ... we can all just hope ... but from what i hear - heaven will be all we ever want and need!

I suggest you read a book called " 90 Minutes in Heaven " its about a man who was pronounced clinically dead for 90 minutes - however came back to life ... he says that he went to heaven ... and explains in detail what Heaven is like. Its very interesting!

Such things will not matter to you as you are explaining them using human terms that only apply to your current body. If you have intended well in your life, Toriaxle will be sure that your spirit is guided where it will be most happy, even if that means parts of your spirit going to different places.

If you have no intended well in your life, Toriaxle will consider you a failure and your spirit will be torn asunder so another attempt can be made with whatever is left over.

Nobody I know knows. Heaven is described in the Bible, but not to the detail you are asking. We'll just find out when we get there.
