i'm 16 yrs old and in high school. i've had braces since my freshman year and srsly it's not stupid for you to have them. they aren't unattractive, and they will definitely make you look better in the long run. and believe me it's not hard to kiss with them on at all.

GET THEM NOW! I am 25 and I just finished paying off my braces ($700, partial braces, I only had 2 crooked teeth) as an adult because my parents waited until high school to offer them to me and I refused bcI was too cool and my boyfriend didn't want me to! I regret that because ever since I have wanted a great smile and I finally got them and had to pay for them myself! It is hard to kiss with them on but your confidence in the future is worth it! I know it was more painful for me than my younger brother.

not sure what your question is but as far as braces go the doc's don't just put braces on people for one tooth out of place there is mostly likely something else going on with your teeth to make the put the braces on you. YOu need to just get over it and asfar as kissing goes would you rather it be harder to kiss now and your teeth look bad later in life?

High school is a short time. Get the braces!

I waited until I was 32, and it was horrible! My jaws and gums had frozen in place since I was fully grown, and it was PAINFUL beyond belief and took FOUR YEARS to correct my bite and straighten my teeth!

I suffered horrible headaches because of the badly-formed bite and mouth cramping, though, and I am glad now that I went through with it.

Be glad that someone else is paying for it too; I had to pay for my braces myself and it was over $5,000.

Plus, braces look a LOT better now than they did when I got mine! Wearing braces means your family is rich and cares about you.

You're LUCKY!

If it's recommended that you get them, get them! While your parents are probably going to pay for them.

I'm 41 and I'm getting them (for the second time in my life) at age 41. At least I know my husband won't dump me, but it'll still be a bit odd having them at this age.

I'll have to get back to you on the kissing. I was in 5th grade when I had them the first time, AND my boyfriend dumped me, so I have no idea!
