if it is a 1st degree burn (no blisters) running cool water for 15 minutes followed by of all things diaper rash cream. the zinc oxide will heal it heal and soothe it.
If it is a 2nd degree burn (blisters) cool water and a trip to the doctor for a med called silver sulphamide (misspelled)
If it is a 3rd degree burn (charred skin massive damage) it probably wont hurt as the nerves are destroyed but treatment would be to flush will cool water until someone gets you to an ER or the ambulance arrives.

burns hurt hon, the only way to PREVENT the pain is to prevent the burn. If you already have this painful burn, the best way to treat any burn is with ice. Ice pack the burn for twenty minutes every hour, after two hours or so, the pain will subside and as long as you continue it will not come back.

If its a first degree burn (red and no blisters) then keep it clean. If you try and cooli twith water it will feel better for a few minutes but the pain will return. If you just keep it clean and out of water the pain will go away after about 15 minutes. If you use water it will hurt for a couple of hours.

b a man and endure the pain, try squeezing your pressure points like between your thumb and index finger for a hour.your brain will focus on that and will help.it works 4 headaches n e way.

I don't think you can prevent pain from a burn no matter how big the fire. :)

It's best to keep your proximity between u and the fire to prevent this problem.

I use toothpaste..I know it sounds odd but it works....Cools it right down...
