Can someone explain this word. I know ive spelt it wrong. As i think I am one.
I ALWAYS have something wrong with me. At the moment its an ear infection, before it was a toothache (which went as soon as I got the infection), and I guess my next could be something like a cold....
How do i stop being so pathetic and being ill all the time?

A hypochondriac is someone who always THINKS there's something wrong with them. But you sound like you're going through a rough patch of real ill health right now.

The toothache went away as soon as you got the ear infection because the infection was building in your sinuses which affect all parts of your face and head, and as soon as it developed far enough to invade your ear, it moved away from your tooth. Also, if you had antibiotics for it, that will help the pressure and pain.

You aren't pathetic but you don't have to be ill all the time, if you get enough sleep, drink enough fluids, eat right, get some exercise, wash your hands a lot, try to avoid stress, and remember to do something fun once in a while. I had a bad stretch like that in Feb. and March this year, so I can sympathize. Mine is usually caused by stress, otherwise my immune system is pretty good.

Good luck to you and I hope you feel better soon.

I mean you can look up the definition in the dictionary.

But generally, I would say hypochondriacs worry more about cancer, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, more serious disorders than a cold. They would think that having a cold is a symptom of a brain tumor or something.

If you thinking you always have something wrong with you is causing you a lot of anxiety and interfering with your life, then you need to take steps to work with your hypochondria. Otherwise, who cares. Don't be quick to label yourself.

Hypochondria is a disorder in which the patient has sever anxiety about their health and are convinced that they have some illness or another. If you're actually sick, chances are you aren't a hypochondriac. Being sick isn't pathetic and everyone's got some ailment or other....

See an ear, nose, and throat specialist; I think you've got a sinus infection.
