If a driver bangs a mercedes or bmw car... It doesnt mean that mercedes/bmw is a bad car... its just the driver

Similarly Islam is an excellent religion and should not be blamed due to few extremists.

Extemists are every where.... you will find them in every religion and aspect of life... Just for instance, see the answers of your question, you will find them

All the best for your report

The MSM (main stream media) often represents Islam as peaceful, but with a small minority of extremist terrorists. I'd certainly like to see a significant majority of mainstream Islam teachers strongly condemn violence. The absence of that makes me infer that it is a religion inclined to violence.

Some (many?) Moslem nations have swords in their flags, indicating conversion by the sword.

Violent Christians are going against the teachings of their founder (although Christians are ok with self defense and the goverment resisting enemies).

Jesus, Paul, James, and Peter (among others) specifically taught that our good behavior should influence people to consider looking into what Christians believe. We are instructed to be good ambassadors for Jesus, which is a huge challenge.

Also, my politically incorrect answer includes that the Islamic religion is demonic and deceived. Paul warned about a false gospel even if taught by an angel (Galations 1:8). My understanding is that Islam rejects the divinity of Christ.

The Christian God will preside over Judgment Day and expects obedience from created humans. However, He is also merciful, forgiving, and gracious ....and salvation is a gift. My impression is that the Moslem Allah expects "works" to earn your way to heaven. This can lead to extreme behavior to "please" Allah.

...I'll answer your question with a question... and please, look it over very very carefully... I'm not sure if you are a "free" Democratiac Citizan... You will see in just a moment...

Can a Muslim be a Good American...? A loyan citizan of a free Domacracy, such as the U.K.
Theologically, No...Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia. Scripturally, No... Because his allegiance if to the five pillars of Islam and the Koran. Geographically, No... Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns and prays five times a day. Socially, No... Because his allegiance to islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews. Politically, No... Because he must submit to the mullah who teach annihialtion of Israel and destruction of America. Domestically, No... Because he is instructed to marry four woman and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quarn: 4:34) Religlouslu No, Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quarn:2:256) Intellectually, No Because he cannot accept the American Constitution or U.K. Constitution since it is based on Biblical princiles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt. Philosophically, No Because Islam, Muhammed and the Quarn do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam connot co-exist... Every Muslim government is either dictatirial or autocratic. Spititually, No... because when "we" declair :one Nation under God" the Christian God is loving and kind while Allah is NEVER referred toi as a heavenly father, nor is Allah ever called "love" in the Quran's 99 excellant names.
You shall know the Truth... and the Truth shall make you free.

I am torn on this one. I have Muslim friends and they are all great. However, I just simply cannot wrap my mind around this religion being called peaceful when the Islamic savior (Muhammed) was such a violent man. The religion started by violence and force. I just dont understand.

The radical muslims out there are really frightening...however the ones that follow it due to tradition are not generaly violent or corrupt people.

The reason I believe in God.

If it wasnt for Islam, I might not ever believe in the Creator.

Because Islam taught me to question everything, and that faith makes sense.

And that God deserves worship because He is the only one who is eternal.

If everything around me eventually dies, then everything around me, is temporary.

And in the midst of all this temporaryness, theres gotta be the One who is Eternal. The one that deserves worship.

Islam is a religious discipline centred around the five 'pillars'. Anyone who performs the demands of these 'pillars' and confesses that there is no God but Allah, and that Muhammad is his messenger, is a Muslim.

Islam is one of the three main branches of Abrahamic religion, and the youngest.
As the youngest brother of the three, it shares much of its mythology with Christianity and Judaism.

This what God is saying about Islam:
"Say: we believe in God and in what has been revealed to us, and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma'il: Isaac, Jacob and The Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus and the Prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another, among them, and to God do we bow our will (in Islam)." (Qur'an, Al-Imran 3:84)
