I just read in an answer to another question that the "Churches were holding onto religious presets that don't meet the needs of enough people". I had to ask, then whose needs should religion fulfill?
And more then that "what" are the needs that it should fulfill?

I agree that people need God, not the other way around. If this is true then the "need" that religion should fulfill must be a need to please GOD, shouldn't it?

The first requirement for a Christian church to fulfill is the spreading of the Gospel message. The presentation of the Gospel according to what Jesus said it was.

The other things a Christian church can do are acts of love. It would be evidence of God's Spirit in that church.

What is imprinted on the Christians cghurches from the outside world is the need to accomplish certain things or face the judgement of the world. The world expects a Christian establishment to do a certain thing, like feed the poor, or be considered a false Christian church.

It is not the buisness of those outrside the church, nor those from within that church, to put on display what it does, one way or the other. The pastor of that church has God looking on, and should not be subject to outside scrutiny.

God has no needs.

There are no needs for God. We are the needy ones. There are so many things that humans need. Most people are just too seld absorbed to think so though.

To have a superstition like religion to make you feel comfortable, is your need.

After all, what would you think of a person who revelled in people praising them all the time?

What happens to your god if his needs are unmet? Does he vanish or something? Is he Tinkerbell?!?!?!

My gods exist independent of their worshippers.

Toriaxle understands that men have needs and asks little to nothing of his creations so that they may please each other and themselves. As long they cause no intentional harm, Toriaxle will guide your spirit when you pass.

Believe me, God doesn't need religion. He'd rather puke up his Cheerios.
