Yes. Salvation comes from the Jews. The bible says so. Jesus himself walked this earth as a Jew and a Rabbi.
I find knowing and understanding the roots of Christianity in the Hebrew faith makes my relationship with God so MUCH better!!
Why was it so important to John in his Gospel that he call Jesus the Word made flesh?
The Hebrews felt God lived among them in their sacred scrolls. In their temples, a red lamp signified the presence of God in the Holy Scrolls in their tabernacle.
John was telling them Jesus IS God.
It's the same in a Catholic Church. Jesus is the Bread of Life. The biblical Bread of the Presence! Red lamp signifies "The Savior is IN."
I jest. But it's still true.

as a jew and having studied in israel about this, christianity is based on judaism. the laws that christians are asked to follow are jewish laws that were in play before jesus even came along. how is one to have an understanding of only part of a religion and for them to say they understand.

Christianity makes little to no sense without an understanding of Judaism. I've also noticed that many Protestant errors stem from a lack of understanding of Judaism. (Such as what is a "firstborn son", the offering of the doves, etc.)
