I think the important question is, do you think it is a sin? Are you comfortable with it? I have a problem with being confined by what other people tell me I should or shouldn't do. Use your own moral compass and if that conflicts with your religious upbringing, maybe you should be examining that instead.

In and of itself, giving/receiving a hickey is not a sin. However, such a thing usually occurs when there is substantually more serious "funny business" going on. It is that "funny business" that can lead to sin far more easily than the exchange of a hickey can.

Hugging and kissing your significant other is not sinful, so long as it is out of mutual care for each other. If there is any lustful component to the hugging and kissing, you are dangerously close to commiting serious sin.

Again, I would not worry so much about the hickey itself. It's the other funny business going on around the hickey that you need to be careful with.

Well, in order to get a hickey you must be making out with someone. This can lead you into the sin of lust, and into temptation to keep going and lead to other sinful sexual activity (if you are not married or are with someone other than your spouse). If you are young and are beginning to date and experiment in sexual activity I would recommend that you read the books "How Far is to Far" and "If You Really Loved Me." My daughter read they. She is 15 and she loved the books.

Are you married? Was the hickey given/received during relations with your spouse? If so, then no problem. Otherwise you might want to ask your priest because sex before marriage is a no-no.

God bless,

No getting a Hicky is not a sin. Kissing is not a sin. Now if you are doing that and having very impure thoughts and lusting then it is sin. But no getting a hicky is not a sin. If it were it would be a venial. And Sex is not a sin unless you are doing outside of marriage.

I think all pleasures of the flesh are considered sins.

The Catholic god doesn't really allow you to have any fun.
