Well even based on the science of it, it's not like anyone's claiming that people evolved from monkeys in 100 years, or even 1000. It would take millions of years, something that goes way beyond human comprehension for time. Also, if you go to a zoo, it's not like we evolved from THOSE monkeys, and even if we did, we're not even close to them anymore, so what would it matter?
But let's say it's a huge stretch to believe it. Why would someone be able to believe that we evolved from a creature like that? That's just plain crazy, right?
But you go to say in your question "you know it's not possible"; okay, so just what IS possible? That there is an all-knowing, all-powerful God that just randomly decided to create us? There's nothing that points to that as a truth other than a book, written by the hand of man, that tells us it happened. Science books are written by the hand of man too, so what makes them less credible to the religiously devout?
I'm not saying that evolution isn't possible, and I'm not saying that God creating us isn't possible. But to ever say that ANYthing is simply "not possible" shows that the speaker has a very closed mind, and in reality, there's no bother trying to discuss such things with them, since their mind is already made up.
That being said, why did you even ask a question in the first place?

Humans did not evolve from monkeys. Humans are more closely related to modern apes than to monkeys, but we didn't evolve from apes, either. Humans share a common ancestor with modern African apes, like gorillas and chimpanzees. Scientists believe this common ancestor existed 5 to 8 million years ago. Shortly thereafter, the species diverged into two separate lineages. One of these lineages ultimately evolved into gorillas and chimps, and the other evolved into early human ancestors called hominids.
Next time, learn a little bit about Evolution, before running your mouth off.

nobody, that includes scientists, atheists, agnostics, Christians, or any group, believes we evolved from monkeys. Humans and apes evolved from a common ancestor, which evolved from another animal, and so on and so forth. Everything is descended from the first living thing, which came from an event called Abiogenesis. Whether it happened by natural means or supernatural means (i.e. God) is debatable

There were no Monkeys involved. We share a common ancestry with the great Apes. Gorillas, Orangutans, Chimpanzees, we are all related but it is a very distant relative some millions of years ago when we started breaking away from the apes and started evolving into what we are today.

We didn't evolve from monkeys; we share a common ancestor.
(BTW, the Bible says we share a common ancestor as well. Read Genesis 2:7 and Genesis 2:19.)

You're right.
We evolved from a common ancestor that is shared by all primates.
----------
The common ancestor came from earlier ancestors, all the way back to the first cell. At that point, evolution no longer plays a role. Cells did not 'evolve', they came into being via abiogensis.
You and I are both part of a single unbroken 3.5 BILLION year old chemical reaction.

The theory doesn't state that humans came from monkeys. That they both came from a common ancestor and branched off because of environments. I didn't just think about it. I studied it, perhaps you should too before you denounce it. Because from what I've read and saw, yes it is possible.

We share a common ancestor. That common ancestor is known as Australopithecus. Australopithecus went extinct.
