The bible is like the coke can in the film ' the gods must be crazy', those who picked it up see a lot different than those who put it there. We are blind to the truth, but the truth is rather happy bout it, so read and think beyond what you see. Your question may mean ascension requires innocent acceptance without the wants and needs that we hold so dear on this plane. Nevertheless religion can be a separatist, inward belief system that prevents all our growth with total disregard for truth and knowledge. Hence the morning star, a light giver, is linked with evil within the so called good book. If light is knowledge then the dark is belief. Remember they believed the world was flat for so long, but we find that ridiculous now because we are educated, supposedly.

Children tend to accept the world at face value, believing what they are told and trusting that everything eventually works out. Positively, they are open to new ideas and are willing to trust the faithfulness of others. Negatively, they are vulnerable to exploitation by people who don't believe in rules.

Jesus meant to emphasize the positive aspects of childlike faith and hope, because that's how people bring about a better world, the "kingdom of God". Cynics see the dangers of such openness and are tempted to either exploit it or discard the whole thing. But then nothing would ever change.

Matthew 10:16 urges Christians to "be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves," when going out among the wolves. This means to be aware of the pitfalls of promoting an optimistic outlook, but to not betray its principles by stooping to the level of the "wolves". The "bad guys" always have a tactical advantage. If they didn't, the "good guys" would have lost their way. The goal is not to be "successful" but to be faithful, not to "win" but to act rightly. That takes an unshakable, child-like faith.

Children are 'innocent of any wrongdoing' because they 'don't know the difference between right and wrong' and because they are 'basically good' to begin with. We need to be 'more innocent' and trusting if we want to 'enter Heaven' ... and my husband and I are both 'intelligent people' who are 'child-like enough' to 'trust' that since Jesus died on the cross for ALL of our sins, we'll be together in Heaven after we die, too.

He means we must have that purity and belief of a child. there is nothing wrong with wisdom, But when it come to faith all the wisdom in the world could not explain it. So as a Child you must believe blindly. only with that purity will you enter heaven.

Jesus said that the Children coming to Him was an example of the Kingdom of God. In John 1 every child born into this world has seen the true light. So, children have the sin nature, but have a spiritual awareness of the true light. As they get older, then disobey parents, etc. And when purposely rebel against Gods love & Truth spiritual blindness/death happens.

Jesus said that these children who believed in Him were an example of the Kingdom of heaven. They loved (trusted) Jesus & wanted to sit on His lap, etc... So, likewise, we need to trust & love Jesus.

But many of us have chose the wrong way & rebelled against God. So Jesus said that we must be born again to see the Kingdom of God. We must repent that we didn't believe in Jesus. To confess Jesus Christ our Savior & Lord & believe He raised from the dead (from the bottom of our heart). We must have child like faith to come to Him. To be born of His Spirit, cleansed by His blood, joint Heirs with King Jesus, part of the Family of God.

A child mind is innocent from sin so we need a clean and sinless body to get into Heaven. The only way to do that is by faith and repenting of your sins.

Children have a deep unconditional love unlike many adults. Mainly children are totally dependant on there parents. God wants us to be totally dependant on Him for ou living in this world and the world to come.

I believe it to mean go to Him as a child. It doesn't mean act like a child, it means the faith that a child has in their Father.

You have to be irrational to think like a child.

Seems like a lot of fundies are certainly accomplishing that... and if that's the population of heaven, I REALLY don't want to go there.

You must be as a little child refers to being born again, without having any corrupted knowledge concening the true nature of God or anything else. Your mind has been emptied and swept clean.
