Im Turk and living in Turkey
I try to be objective.
Last week a Greek tourist ship sank . Can we say don't go there coes It's not safe . Ofcourse not.
Every kind of thing can be in any where.
Come and see Turkey with your own eyes. After your holiday you will ask your self that ''why did I ask that question?''
Have also a kid and I understand you very well.
Have a nice holiday with your family.

Not very good. The main attraction of Turkey is it's history and antiquities and kids really don't seem to be too interested in that for now. If you do go, I'd stay in a resort town like Bodrum.

As far as bombings, while Turkey is a predominantly Muslim nation, they are a peaceful nation. Occasionally you hear about a bombing in Istanbul by Kurdish terrorists, but it rarely happens.

I have been there twice and lovd it - the prices are great - i recommedn Olu Dinez - the beach is MAGNIFICENT - the restaurants are good and above the lagoon is a big hill where there are paragliders coming down all day long and landing on the beach - it was fascinating and the kids would love that - you can snokel in the lagoon ( see this - http://www.gofethiye.com/fethiye/pictures/oludeniz-2.JPG ) - take a boiled egg with you and crumble it ion your hand - loads of little fish will gather around you and eat the eggy bits - the kids would find that cool too.... here are some pics but best is do a search on yhoo and see the lagoon - its stunning! It was safe too - I never heard of any problems in that area so you can relax

Turkey is as safe (if not safer) as any other country. I would be scared walking downtown Manhattan, Chicago, or London for that.
If you are looking for sun, sea, and sand, go down south or south-west of Turkey. Check it on the internet. Beautiful nature, lots of historical sites, great hotels and guesthouses. Definitely great food; watch out if you don't want to put on weight:)))
I enjoyed a few holidays in Istanbul (history and cheap shopping), relaxation at an all-inclusive hotel outside Antalya, nature and history at Capadocia.

i have been travelling to turkey for 15 years and have recently bought a house there, i would have to say its one the most beautiful places in the world the people are very friendly and the scenery is stunning but its very important where you go and what you want from a holiday. if your children are 14 years plus i suggest you go to gumbet which id on the bodrum peninsular its lively and theres plenty for the kids to do. if the kids are younger i suggest turgutreis which is also on the bodrum peninsular and is 12 kms past the town of bodrum . its on the coast and i suggest you stay at the mandalinsi hotel its not expensive but clean and 20 metres from the beach. have a great holiday

We never fancied going to Turkey, but 2 years ago, we had to take a last minute deal, and it was the only place available for our dates. It was the best holiday we have ever had! We went to Altinkum, and the year after went back to Gumbet. The people can't help you enough - customer service is top of their agenda. The prices are cheap, food lovely, and I can't wait to go back. You can get bombed just as easy in the UK!

hi,Turkey's OK,but just that, bombing?as safe as any where else in the world today,my wife and I went to Side(sideer)it's a bit hot,but the worst thing was the hard sell by shopkeepers,if we stopped to look at anything in a window without fail the owner would be in our face,"what were you looking at?make me an offer, following us down the road.on and on until we dare not stop.

I went to Istanbul back in November and I found hospitality, nice and respectful people. Beautiful city, I definitely want to go back and explore other Turkey's providences as well. I am positive you'll enjoy your holiday in Turkey :)~
