Without taking more of lithium. I want to stay away from any kind of drug that will raise my lithium levels.

Lithium interferes with the body's normal regulation of sodium and water, so it can cause dehydration, which can then raise lithium levels and put you at risk for toxicity. So I guess I would say don't overdo it on the high-sodium foods and drink water.

Also, stay away from anything that is known to be tough on your kidneys. The therapeutic range of lithium is really narrow. That means the dosage required to achieve a therapeutic effect is only slightly lower than the dosage that is toxic to you. It requires consistent blood level monitoring and kidney and thyroid tests.

Nothing that I know of, however, you shouldn't be taking ANY drug without consulting the doctor that prescribed the lithium to begin with.

Check Google on Lithium drug interactions. I think you will find, among others, that calcium and magnesium increases serum levels.
