Sure. As it says here:
"When a superior person hears of the Tao,
She diligently puts it into practice.
When an average person hears of the Tao,
he believes half of it, and doubts the other half.
When a foolish person hears of the Tao,
he laughs out loud at the very idea.
If he didn't laugh,
it wouldn't be the Tao."

So what is your question asking?
1) Can your religion stand up and scorn others?
or
2) Can your religion stand up to the ridicule and scorn of others?
For "1", I would say no. Christianity doesn't do that.
For "2", I would say they would have to speak to God, the Big Guy Up There if they had complaints over His jurisdiction.

While I don't want the ridicule and scorn, I know that when people choose to ridicule or scorn, me, I can go back to my heavenly father. After all, he suffered a lot worse and paid for the sins of the person who is ridiculing and scorning me.

I don't have a religion, I have a belief. And I'm not remotely sure of my belief, so I am certainly willing and eager to discuss it. Scorn and ridicule will get you ignored.

There is neither ridicule nor any scorn in "pure religion".
Pure religion: arrives undefiled and remains unspotted.
That's clarified in James 1:27; New Testament: Holy Bible.
As for "truth", it withstands all scrutiny, flushes all mutiny.
The truth: My "grace is sufficient" (no law at all required).
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

I have no religion, nor am I atheist....but I digress.
All religions will come and go. Some will last longer than others.
We are already starting to see the decline of christianity within the US. I think its being replaced with the religion of the dollar.

Atheism is pretty good at that, we don't have magical flying hippies that promise to grant our wishes, nor do we claim that the great sky daddy wrote our instructions on how to live. We base our beliefs pretty much on reality, you know, stuff that can be verified to be true in the real world, even invisible stuff like radiation, x-rays, and air.
I can't say the same for the sky daddy worshipers.

I don't ridicule or scorn anyone, like-minded on faith or complete opposite of me in matters of faith. Why do we have to ridicule each other?

I don't have a 'religion'--I have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Jesus stood up to ridicule and scorn and the Bible tells us that we believers will, too.
So I accept all the scorn one can give me, because I KNOW what I believe to be true-and that is Jesus died for my sins and He lives in my heart and I am MADLY IN LOVE WITH THE LOVER OF MY SOUL!!

ridicule and scorn would be a dream compared to that.
