I'm just asking about global warming cuz something struck my interest this morning. Someone asked what my views were so I'll share.I believe global warming is happening and I don't know for sure what's causing it, but I do think that if believing that we're causing it will make us take steps to make the world better for future generations instead of worse I will go along with that.
I am pretty liberal on most issues but very conservative on some. I'm just trying to see what other people's views are. So why do some people feel the need to be constantly outraged by everything?

Ego gets in the way.... your views, and mine, challenges a narrow view/concept of things and asks people to really look at reality and hard data. That's not something a whole lot of people want to do, especially if they pick and choose what realities they want to accept in order to navigate this life.

It's a simple thing... all scientists and environmentalists are asking is to choose wisely, more Earth-friendly products instead of mindless consumption... somehow that doesn't register as even remotely logical with many people and I don't know why, short of coming to the conclusion that it challenges selfishness. I dunno.

The ozone layer disappears, greenhouse gases go up to the upper layers of ther atmosphere and the number of hurricanes goes up, regardless of what people think or whether they're liberals or conservatives.

Think Globally, Act Locally.

There's no use in trying to convince people.

It seems like for some people yelling, name, calling, and being angry are easier than listening and discussing. Maybe they are afraid that they do not know as much about what they are talking about as they think they do or their faith isn't as strong as they like. I tend to get kind of belligerent when i can't express myself the way mean to so i get frustrated and get angry and end the conversation.

Some people (a lot of people) just have issues. I appreciate you sharing your views.

Our culture celebrates indignant outrage instead of thoughtful discussion. Just turn on your TV.

I don't need to be hostile, it's just that sometimes I enjoy it.
