It says to pray only to the Father in the Heavens. I know little about the Catholic Regligion but am curious as to why you would pray to a man rather than To GOD Almighty...

Apparently people who visit doctors are healed every day!

Amazing, isn't it?!

They pray for that person to ask god to heal them. Perhaps you should get a version of the roman catholic bible andread that instead oftheabridged version they use in your 'church'

The Bible is very clear that we should pray to no one except God. Anything else is idol worship. Some Catholics do pray to saints, Mary, and angels as opposed to Jesus Himself. I don't know where this teaching came about, but it is incorrect.

Catholics don't pray to Saints or other individuals for them to use their power to help us nor do we attribute any special powers to them.. We ask the person we praying to to pray for us and ask God for His Blessing. We ask for their intercession for us.

For example, let's say you need a favor from your father and he might say no. You might turn to your mother or anyone who can make him change his mind and do you the favor. So you would ask that person for help.

That is what we Catholics do. We ask our Brothers and Sisters to intercede on our behalf with God. Nothing more.

The person asked the late pope to pray FOR her. The Bible says to "pray for one another" (James 5:16).

People do not pray to other people for healings. We ask for deceased people we believe to be saints for their intercession. Intercessory prayers are us asking for the saint to pray also to God and Jesus for healing (spiritual and/or physical). It is similar to us asking our mother when we are a child to ask daddy's for permission for something when we know that mom can influence daddy to agree.

Remember it is our Father in heaven who heals and not the saint. Nor do we pray to living people for healing. We may ask them to also pray for our healing. They are simply asking also on our behalf.

Catholics forgive me if I'm wrong but Catholics are taught That the roman catholic church is heaven on earth and that the pope acts as God on earth. Craziness to me but OK whatever.
