recently, a very arrogant and intellectually tiny member here, posted that blacks were less intelligent than whites, that studies showed a distinct connection between race and iq.
while studies are valuable and can indicate quite a lot.often they are only viewed with bias and without thought or understanding of cultural nuance.
i ask this question because i would like to suggest that it is in bad form to ask such questions, it is in bad form to search out and suggest weakness in others. i would suggest one exception is needed to break a theory and there are several that i can think of.
that being said, i have "statistics" that "prove" christians in particular are less intelligent than less religious and even athiest folks. i think it is interesting to see how those that were so willing to suggest "it's all in the numbers" when it came to black people, will deal with this piece od information.

i would agree that intellect and religion have no connection. i would also agree the same to be true of race. that being said there are studies that demonstrate otherwise.
i think it is odd that there folks who were in immediate agreement with the study surrounding blacks, that when it is christianity, the "study" is less acceptable.

Have you ever seen A Beautiful Mind. That guy was super intelligent and he had Imaginary friends. I don't think having imaginary friends has anything to do with intelligence.

I think it is in EXTREMELY bad taste for one to suggest that any race or group is smarter than another. EVERY person is different and the amount of themselves they apply, as well as their ability differs. I am a white christian (only said to identify and show a point.... it really wouldn't matter if I were a purple kangaroo would it?) with a social circle of many colors, beliefs and professional levels.... I can't see a connection. I think the first thing that people should look for when judging intelligence in others is kindness and ability to get along with others, whether of the same background and beliefs or not.

To be honest, I don't understand why people are up in arms at comparitive intellectual studies. On average it seems that Asians are smarter than Caucasians who are in turn smarter than ******. Why this should be the case and if it's down to societal or physical factors I have no idea, however, there's no point running away from an idea because it's unpopular.
What would be more beneficial would be to find out why and if it really is the case rather than instantly dismissing the question as taboo.

The real intelligence of man is not measured on the color of his skin or religion. Since intelligence in this age is normally tested on how much does he know about math, history, science, current events, religion and philosophy, why don't we try to put your challenges on who do you think will have more chances of living comfortably in a very spartan way of life without the presence of tools, equipments and appliances around. Say survival in the jungle. Let us see who will be more equipped with the intelligence of living alone.

Everyone is intelligent in their own way. has nothing to do with that which you choose to believe in or what color your skin tone may be.
There are no truth in statistics, because there is no way to gain access to every person on this planet. You can not base theory on a chosen few to form a general rule.
knowledge is based on opinions that are from those who walked life before you.

Intelligent with regards to what?
I think there are many christians that are intelligent in the matters of medicine, mathematics, etc...
But faith I think is unintelligent. It is used to bridge the gaps in things people don't understand.
Just because you don't know where we came from or why we are here doesn't mean "make something up"
BTW - I find belief in Santa Claus, Fairies, and The tooth fairy equally unintelligent.

first of all, information may be (and maximum in lots of cases are) biased. i do no longer care what that asserts....I even have met some clever Christians basically as in lots of cases as I even have met some under clever ones. comparable is going for the different faith to boot.

Intelligence has nothing to do with faith. Success, maybe, but intelligence depends on personal circumstances and sometimes on genetic make-up.

yes, that is scriptural. the world is very wise and prudent and God hides himself from them and reveals himself unto babes that would learn but christians have something the smart man knows nothing about, FAITH/REVELATION!
