A breastfeeding Mother should not be trying to loose weight. You need a good nutritious diet right now & you can concentrate on the weight loss issues after your child is weaned from the breast. Breast feeding speeds up your metabolism if you don't supplement it with the bottle. Are you drinking plenty of water? Your weight will start to come off after about a year! Be patient with yourself. Now is the time to bond with your child & concentrate on just being a Mother. Don't worry about that extra weight. Your child can use your belly as a nice place to lay their head when they take a nap...really! No one cares if you have a little extra weight. You are a mother & you need to see yourself in a different light. Good luck. Be happy & enjoy your baby for the short time they will be a baby. It all goes by much too fast & soon they are in school & you will have more time for you!

DO NOT TRY TO LOSE WEIGHT WHILE BREASTFEEDING. After you are done breast feeding follow the plan below.

To lose the weight, you need to eat less calories and start exercising. DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF!!!
For exercise, do three to four sessions a week, 60 minutes at a time, of intense jogging, running, the Stairmaster, the elliptical, jumping rope, or biking should be enough to get the process in gear. Swimming, hiking, and taking aerobics classes are beneficial as well.

Nothing beats jogging or running. It's the most intense, efficient, and effective method of burning calories. If running outside hurts your joints, try running inside on a treadmill or outside on a dirt path.

Again, you NEED three to four intense cardio sessions a week, at least 20 minutes a session, to help create a calorie deficit and help rid the body of the fat.

Also do at least ten minutes a day of strength training.

In terms of diet, you need to have 50 percent of your calories come from protein, 40 percent carbs, 10 percent fats. Cut calories gradually.

put him in the stroller and get out at least 30 minutes a day. Pills don't work anyway - except for a good multi-vitamin. You will lose the baby weight = provided you are eating a healthy diet in a normal calorie range.
