Ultimately, what are Aliens but strange, elusive beings that have come from the heavens, with extraordinary powers, who intend to take over humanity or to obliterate into oblivion those who don't follow their command?
On the other hand, God is.....
Hey, wait just a tick!!

that's a good question. and yet people are getting it totally wrong. "More rational"? hardly. There are billions of stars in the universe, if one has an orbiting body the right distance from it, BAM! Aliens.
I think it's important to clarify whether you're talking about belief in specific God/gods or just a general "one has to exist" view. The latter is pretty reasonable, but the former is much more outlandish than believing in aliens.

The problem associated with "believing in" aliens or extraterrestrials, as in that they are visiting Earth in UFOs, is that, for the preceding to be true, since they must be from beyond our Solar System where intergalactic or intercosmic distances are measured in light years (light traveling at the rate of `86,000 miles per second), the laws of physics must be circumvented, abolished, or otherwise overcome. Of course, Ufologists do maintain that those creatures from advanced civilizations are indeed capable of performing such seemingly impossible feats! Scientists tend to be skeptical, claiming that there is no credible proof of aliens having actually been here. God, conversely, is presumably located beyond the Universe somewhere, since how could he have created it had he already been a part of it? He is additionally invisible (as apparently are ETs generally, although they do reveal themselves occasionally if the stories of alien abductions are to be regarded seriously) so is not required to prove himself in any ordinary fashion. Some scientists and atheists are similarly skeptical of God's existence; to logical thinkers one belief might well be as outlandish as the other as there is no current viable proof of either.

Belief in God(s) has been a staple of human society for thousands of years. Belief in aliens has generally been stereotyped as a belief held by science fiction 'nerds.' It's just a matter of which belief has been around longer, really.

I do not think either is outlandish, since I believe in both, and in the future in may even be easier to prove the existence of aliens than god. One spaceship landing on main street and there is your proof.

Why is it important to compare?
I believe in God because of the Historical References to Jesus and also because of the Spiritual feeling.
I also believe because following God's laws has made me a happier and better person, and better neighbor to all of mankind.
After searching for 40 years, this is what works for me.
I don't have any of those feelings about aliens.
Peace and God Bless!

I'm a Christian and I believe in both. I don't think the fact that there are aliens contradicts the Bible. Not that hard to grasp really. There alot of things going on that we don't understand..and thats fine with me.

Ya got me! I don't get it. I was raised Catholic, I was raised to believe in things like miracles, stigmata, Purgatory, Limbo, transubstantiation of wine into blood, and bread into flesh? I don't think my current beliefs are any weirder than that, and some of my current beliefs make alot more sense to me!
But then I believe in "all of the above"....
Seal: hear, hear!

They consider the bible proof, a fairytale book, but not the belief in other life forms, they think we are all alone, were the jewel of the universe the only place with life on it.
They are ignorant, and closed minded.

I don't know. I do know that people should resepct each other's choices to believe or not believe in whatever it is that they want to believe or not believe in. At the end of the day we are all huiman beings regardless of whatever label one chooses in terms of religious or non religious as well as political beliefs and views.
