>> "Claiming there is no creator or superior intellegence is arrogant, irrespective of your "personal relationship"."
Oh is that so? So you think stating there is a superior being who you have a personal relationship with, yet anybody who doesn't believe in him is wrong and destined for hell... you think this isn't arrogant? You think that your god (being only one of the thousands of possible gods from history) is the right one, you doubtless think you're going to heaven while others are going to hell, you think said god gives a crap about you and not other people... This isn't arrogant? By what possible stretch?
Claiming that a supreme being is incredibly improbable, demonstrating that the bible is inaccurate and wrong with actual facts, history and observable reality... you see that as arrogant? That is not arrogant, it's educated.
No sir, you are unequivocally and demonstrably the far, far more arrogant one.

It depends. Claiming that there is absolutly without a doubt no possible way that a creator could exist is arrogant, because it assumes the unknowable.
However claiming that you don't believe in a creator is not arrogant at all...it's a statement of fact. Saying that people are absolutely wrong doesn't go over well in social circles, but saying that your opinion about the world differs from theirs cannot be viewed as arrogant.

Hardly.
For one to assume that they have a "personal relationship" with a supernatural creator of a universe is considerably more arrogant. Even more so are the ones who claim to speak for said creator.

To me its seems the height of arrogance to think that any being that could create the entire universe has the time to find someone a good parking spot at the mall.

Perceptions, perceptions... if you use vocabulary, scientific knowledge, or data to support anything you write and someone disagrees with it, it challenges their ego, or somesuch, it's going to be labeled however they perceive it. Most of the time such perceptions are that you're being "arrogant", "mean", "mocking" or some other negative wording.
Perceptions and projections is how my teacher refers to it. Don't vorry mein little fuzzy friend... zay veeel get over it or not.

No, in fact you would be insane or arrogant if you claimed you did have a personal relationship a supremely transcendent God.

When I speak, the words I say are the Word of God.
And did you know that it's arrogant of atheists to deny that fact?

No!
The arrogant ones are the ones who claim to "KNOW" god exists... They "KNOW" the bible is true.... they "KNOW" everything in their fantasy is real..... then when an Atheist points out the parts of their fantasies that do not make sense, that's when the Atheists are "arrogant" and we "think we know everything."
I think you'll appreciate this comic in my source links area. Enjoy!

You are arrogant for presuming that you don't need to have a personal relationship with God.
