i am considering purchasing a joomla shack template and in order to customise the rotating images it is apparently necessary to use fireworks8, well, i already own flash8. is it the same thing?
i am aware that macromedia is now owned by adobe.

Absolutely not. Completely different products.

Fireworks is a graphics package, think of it as Photoshop designed specifically for web image work. Slicing and dicing, animation, palette optimization, size reduction, etc.

Flash... you know what it is. I don't need to explain it to you.
