Perfection is the wrong goal.
Shoot for self improvement instead.
===========
I'm utterly serious here. You will not achieve perfection - none of us will. The perfect is the enemy of the good - in trying to be perfect, you run the very real risk of failing to improve at all. It's very easy to see that problem - it plays out over and over again here.
You have plenty of time to become a better person, and taking that time makes it likely that you will.

Christian belief.
Perfection is unobtainable. Sin lives in a man's heart and mind. They are both corrupted and need God's grace to cover our ways. I am very analytical and logical thinker. I struggle against my own mind more than my heart. So to get as close as possible to perfection I would go with heart.

The best way to spiritual beauty and perfection is to not separate the two, but use both your heart and mind in following your path. You have two eyes, no one would expect you to wear an eye patch. Why would you use only one way or another to look at religion.

I'm an atheist. I didn't get a clear grasp of my place in the world or my role as a moral being until I gave up the illusions of Faith and followed instead the dictates of Reason.
Reason is the path, my friend, not wishful thinking and fairy tales.
And I have no idea what being "spiritual" means. I used to be religious, but I gave that up. So perhaps now I'm perfectly NON-spritiual!

It's a process over time, it's not going to happen overnight. But there are steps to take. First pray and ask the Father into your heart (mind) and life. Ask for change of you. Ask for guidance and direction. Ask for forgiveness of your sins. Do all this in Jesus name (authority).
Come to the reality that as long as you dwell in the flesh body you are going to fall short. All are sinners. Repentance is a change of mind not a license to sin. Perfection is maturity or full age in His Word. We are to produce fruit and glorify Christ.
His Word is an life learning process. Trust this man or no man unless you check it out in His Word. I've been at it earnestly for 16 years. I'm producing fruit but feel I'm still in the process. Don’t clean house (clean up your act) without filling that void with the Word of God.
Luke 11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
Luke 11:25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
Luke 11:26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
By the way, born again means born from above, check it out.

You can attain spiritual perfection by following 2 laws:
1. You shall love your God w/ all your soul, heart, and mind
2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
For infact, the law and the prophets were based on the above.

In Christianity, there is only one way. God demands perfection...(Jesus: "Be ye perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.")
The only way we can achieve such perfection is to have our sins washed away in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, being buried with our sins in Christ, awaiting His coming again.
Working out our salvation "with fear and trembling" day by day until we die.
We will still face the Final Judgment. Only then waill we be purified and allowed entrance into God's Kingdom of heaven.

God gives his chosen ones the gift of faith. He removes their "stony hearts" and replaces them with "hearts of flesh" in order for them to accept and understand the things of God.
My belief is that a "new heart" refers to a renewed mind (intellect).
I am a Christian.

The way of the heart. We really can't reach spiritual perfection because Jesus Christ and his Father are the only perfection that will ever be. We can follow Christ's example and do the best we can with His help, but we are sinners and cannot be perfect!

I grew up going to church, and believed what I was told, but lost my faith as an adult.
I found it again, only by actually PRACTICING faith. Examples: reading the Bible, going to church, discussing Christian issues with my husband, etc.
You have to find out what your beliefs are and then work on developing them.
