Is a whole wheat bread-only diet ok (eating nothing but fruit/veggies & bread)? I plan on taking vitamins also. I just need to lose some weight. Please don't give me speeches about how I need to learn how to eat for the long run... I've heard it all!

Not unless you're in a prisoner-of-war camp.

Not really.

You need dairy and protein. Try to make one of those bread meals a cheese sandwich with either meat or tofu on it. A little meat isn't bad for you, infact, it is good for you as it takes less effort/energy/time to turn meat protein into human protein.

Drink Vitamin D enriched milk.

I would exercise, don't drink sugar while you do it and afterwards eat your sandwich with water. Your body will eat the sandwich and turn it into muscle which will help metabolise more fat (which is what you want to get rid of).

Other tips are to drink 8-12 ounces of water before every meal.

There is only one real way to lose weight (unless you are severely overweight already--I'm talking pre-Subway Jared) and that is liposuction or starvation. Neither is that good. Typically you just trade muscle for fat, you keep the same overall weight, but your do shrink your body.

Also, having more muscle helps prevent future fat gain as each muscle cell burns calories (more muscles means more calories burned).

No. Fruits, veggies and bread alone will not give your body the nutrients it needs. While multi-vitamins are good, it's best to take in nutrients in the form of food. Visit www.calorieking.com and check out the free trial of their diet calendar log. You can set up the amount of calories you want to take in (you need at LEAST 1,200). Then use a 40-30-30 ratio of carbs-protein-fat. The program will help you set this up. You can monitor what you're taking in and make sure you're getting all the nutrients you need. Best of luck!

You need a balanced diet, which contains minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates etc. So it's the best to balance things.
If you want to lose weight, eat good meals three times, don't snack, get enough exercise and drink plenty of water.
And most important of all, eat healthy! Don't go to the MacDonalds or Burger King every single day.

that would be a very good way to decrease the amount of muscle on your body and substantially increase the body fat percentage. making it easier to gain more weight even at a reduced caloric intake.

you do realize that there is a big difference between losing "weight" on the scale and reducing body fat? if the total bodyweight decreases and the body fat goes up you are now less healthy than previously and now fatter...far from an improvement

you can either lose body fat the "right" way through eating healthy and regular exercise or you can play this game with human biology for the rest of your life. and I guarantee you lose just like everyone before you has.

No, you don't have a source of calcuim in there, and you have to be sure you are getting enough protien as well. Also this will be a very boring diet so you probably won't stick with it for long. What's the point in making yourself miserable when if you did just learn to eat right you'd never need to worry again.

My advice is simple:
Do not do this diet. Just make sure you eat healthy foods and look at the fat and calorie content before buying or eating. If there is a diet version of what you want to eat, get that instead. but most of all, make sure you excersise. That is truly the key.

In moderation it might be okay. Depends on how your body processes things. There are still a fair amount of carbs in wheat bread though.

You might actually gain weight because bread isn't the best thing to have even on a diet at all. Haven't you heard to stay away from to much grain when your on a diet?

Add milk, cheese, nuts and it's okay.
But you dont want to eat too much bread, or you'll get problems with your excretion (because bread helps with the fibre).
