LOL Kids are crazy. Some come up with the oddest "trends" to submerse themselves in. I take it she is in the "goth" scene and maybe shops at Hot Topic. These things aren't bad, so that's not what I'm saying. Some times kids are angsty and sometimes they're morbid. Just try to keep engaged in who she is and the type of person she is becoming. I don't think you have to forbid her from MySpace, it's not that serious. But if her safety may be an issue, have a convo about the risks of sharing too much info about your personal life, personal info, and talking to people you don't know. Really, having a conversation can help a lot in the end. Talking with your kids can get you so far sometimes if you engage them right. Getting to know them is better than telling them who they are or who they should be. Of course telling them why or why not to be certain ways is great if it's needed.

Is she a Goth rocker?
Or an Emo kid?
Pretty normal nowadays for kids to have morbidity
built into their screenames & online persona.
How old is she?You really should just talk to her
about it.Tell her you don't understand and allow her
to explain.Don't make a big deal, just probe into
her psyche while she isn't paying attention.
If she has built an emotional wall of some sort,
THERE is the real problem, not her screename.
Virtually all my friends were morbid at that age.
I will go ahead and date myself by saying that
they called us "Death Rockers" back in those days.
We dug psychobilly rock,Siouxsie Sioux,.Electropop
..Black Metal
And yes,We donned the black and piercings and
tats even then.
We just felt that too much normalcy was unnerving.
She probably does too, that's why you guys should
have an interesting discussion about this soon!

I would be a little alarmed, but don't get to bad. Kids will be kids. I remeber when I was in HS the cool thing was JENCO jeans, which were what the "ganster wore"...the thing was this was a town of about 1000 people and these were kids who worked on the farm all day, and wore those jeans just because it the "in thing" personally they looked stupid, but, it is most likly just a fad, or trying to stand out on the site and nothing more.....the best thing you can do is just sit down and ask...be honest and straight forward, but try not to sound nosy or pushy....

She watches CSI
There are many kids who are fascinated by the science presented by CSI. Dont worry about the role playing. If you look closely, she is the one who solves the problem by being the coroner . Well it would have been better if she role played on being the forensic pathologist. But shell get there and you might be raising a future scientist or doctor, so start saving money for her college and med school tuition already. Lol

I'll tell you what I think from my perspective. I'd be a little alarmed, but you might want to ask her before jumping to any conclusions. It might be an inside joke. I'm a teenager so I kinda know about these things..my friends and I have some strange inside jokes too! I'd ask your daughter what it means, but MAKE SURE it doesn't seem like you're being nosy. I hope this helps you out!

you need to get her password, and be an active snoop! My mom did that crap to me, and I hated it then, but she kept my butt out of some seriouse trouble. Looking back, i am glad that my mom was concerned about what I was doing.
best thing to do is open your own account as a teenager.... you can get pics from just about anywhere on line. add her as a friend... that usually allows you into her world a little as well.
I know that if you ask her about it, she will clam up and get defensive. Think outside the box. My mom always said that she worked harder trying to be smarter than a teenager, than she did actually raising me.

Yes you should be alarmed it's your daughter. You never know if she's meeting some weirdo on there. You should log into her myspace if you can, or ask her about it. I never had a myspace, but I know if my dad was concerned he would've went through the whole thing and questioned me and sat me down. My dad would tell me straight and I would learn to respect that.

I highly suggest a greater effort to know more about your daughter. If you really are concerned, talk to her. Don't make it a "Let's sit down and have a talk." type of thing. Whenever you have the door of conversation open, ask. Start with something about the site..then ask about her page. Ask about other things. Then you don't have a "target" subject. Just a casual conversation with your daughter.(..that helps you learn about her.)

It can't be too bad Does she like CSI? maybe she will seek employment in a detective field? Kids just play out things that they wouldn't necessarily act out. just ask her or monitor her activities online.. i would ask her why she chose that name. unless she doesn't' know you are monitoring her.. Then just sit back for a while and keep your eyes open.. it could be worse it could be pornographic. didn't mean to be so blat en.. lots of luck

This is very common, emo wanna be kind of thing. 'Oh look at me my life is so depressing and no one understands me" but I am sure it is just a front as everyone is fake on myspace. As long as you think she is normal then it's all okay.
