I am inviting a married couple, both are doctors. How do I word the invitation?

Would it be:
Dr. and Dr. Smith
The Drs. Smith
Dr. Jim and Dr. Jane Smith

Thanks for your help! This is the only one that kind of stumped me...

For the outer envelope, use "Doctors Jim and Jane Smith." For the inner envelope, use "The Doctors Smith."

I would say Dr. James and Dr. Jane Smith. (if they both have the same last name). If the woman uses her maiden name still then I would say
Dr. James Smith and Dr. Jane Thompson or Thompson Smith (example of a maiden name).
OR
Drs. James Smith and Jane Smith

Personally, I'd go with "Drs. Jane and Jim Smith".

I don't agree with above... you have to mention the Dr.

But it's OK to just do
Dr Mary and Dr Joe Smith....

You should be using first names as well. This way you won't have anyone adding people if you just address it to the Smiths- this mean the whole family.

While the Dr. is formal, you aren't inviting Dr.s your inviting friends or family, Mr. and Mrs. Smith is just fine.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith means Mr. And Mrs. Smith, not Mr. And Mrs. Smith and family. If you prefer to you can use first names, but there's no need.
