I don't believe in god either and I have everything that I need and want too, but that's because I work hard for it all. Those that don't have clean water is because they are without the same technology that we have. (I do send money and give alot to charity too) For some people that don't have anything though it's because they don't work for it because they're waiting for god to give it to them....and I said SOME, and I've seen people like this, so nobody jump down my throat.

It s all about peace of mind. People will go through trials. The bible says trials will come. Its all in the way we handle it by serving God in spite of. The situation we see as so horrible, may actually be the thing that is strenghening that persons faith the most. You dont know how strong your faith is until its tested. Some people have weak faith which is easily destroyed by adversity. Some people can live in fly infested villages with little clean water and still serve God better than someone living on the hill with a lobster in one hand and mercedes keys in the other. What people miss is its not about this life, but the life eternal.

Everything you need and want to make you happy could be taken from you tomorrow. Things rust. Property can be destroyed in a storm or stolen by thieves. People die. Everything we own--EVERYTHING--even us, is temporary.

You are putting all your hopes and dreams into things that have no lasting value. The person without clean drinking water who knows the Spirit of God has far more of real value than you.

This world's focus is not pleasure. It is to learn from experience, and, most of the time, this experience involves suffering. Maybe the more you suffer the closer you are to where you need to be (unless the suffering is self-inflicted, that seems a little odd)? Or maybe not. The purpose of this world is to better oneself as much as one can, and situations (you could almost call them tests) are constantly provided so that one may act in them. And, even if you feel you have failed in any given situation, you may still learn from that failure. And if one dies before he/she has completed his/her learning (as the vast majority of humanity will, no doubt me and most reading this will be included in that majority), one may choose to continue this learning, to become his/her perfect self, and be able to become whole again, fully connected to God (this is what most would consider purgatory). If they choose not to follow they will be separate from him, in what many would call hell. I would not say that this is necessarily suffering, but it may be. Then again, it may only be suffering compared to being with God, it may not be so bad.

Now, I have a question for you, how can you believe that there is no higher being, no creator? How do you explain the creation of the universe without there being something before it? Please answer this (preferably by my email in my profile), because I have never understood atheism or agnosticism and would like to know the reasoning behind their beliefs.

Some are satisfied with what they have, others continually want more. People who believe in the Lord and those who don't face poverty and persecutian alike. I believe in the Lord and I feel that I have many things to be thankful for. The reward for believing in God is that you know once you die, earthly things shall be passed away but we shall reside in the Kingdom of Heaven forever with our Lord. Amen!! Thank you Jesus for loving me!

The Bible says that rain falls on the just and the unjust. Sometimes, if Satan can not defeat a person through discouragedment, he will instead tempt them with riches. I don't mean to say that you are necessairily getting everything from Satan, but I will say that as long as you think that you have everything .... you are being deceived by him.

I am not rich by any means but I am far richer than you.

Without God, you haven't even scratched the surface of what real power is.

As a Christian heaven is everything to me. God provides those things I need to survive. I praise God for providing the food, clothes and roof over my head. I think @ times I do take those things for granted forgetting to thank God for them. Those who are Christian and struggle are much happier because they know their reward is heaven.

No. Maybe it's because you are not sharing your wealth. If you beleived in God he would guide you to the right path. I know many beleivers who are wealthy and non-beleivers who aren't.

When times get rough such as no money, food, and your family died who else can you turn to. Most people turn to God for help. It may not be now but maybe in the future a miracle will happen to them. Perhaps a wealthy person like you will help them someday.

It's an incredible con job when you think about it, to believe something now in exchange for something after death. Even corporations with their reward systems don't try to make it posthumous

They believe in God *because* they don't have clean water, they need to believe there is something better waiting for them after death.
