Yes a christian can be a homosexual, they would just be living in constant sin. lol

Okay who seriously gave me thumbs down. I am not saying that I believe that, I am just saying if you were a Christian, and chose to be homosexual, by christian rules you would be living in sin. That is true by Christian standards. Get real!!! It is what it is!!!
Please respond and prove me wrong if there is a place in the bible that supports homosexuality.

This question depends a lot on what you mean by Christian. For example, is a Christian defined by what he does, what he says, or what he believes? (Or she.)

Some people say you're a Christian if you believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day, is the Son of God, and that he has forgiven you of all your sins. Nothing in there would require you to stop being a homosexual.

Some people say you're a Christian if you try to live in accordance with the commandments God gave you. Well, if that's so, and if you have clearly been taught not to be live a homosexual lifestyle through God's Word, then a practicing homosexual would not be a Christian, but a celibate homosexual might be.

So the first thing to do is define "Christian," then you define "homosexual," and you determine what is involved in each, and if they conflict.

I've written a thorough, published article on this very subject.

The bottom line is that being a homosexual who embraces and celebrates his or her condition (whatever its cause) is inconsistent with biblical Christianity. The same answer might be given if you asked if someone who lives an adulterous lifestyle could be a Christian. However, someone who has committed adultery or homosexual acts, or someone who is tempted by such things, can be an authentic Christian. The key is whether you believe it is sin and seek to remove yourself from it and be transformed by the Holy Spirit. We all have sinned and are tempted in various way. These are just some of the more noteworthy examples of what fallen humanity may fall in to.

The Bible consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). Romans 1:26-27 teaches specifically that homosexuality is a result of denying and disobeying God. When a person continues in sin and disbelief, the Bible tells us that God “gives them over” to even more wicked and depraved sin in order to show them the futility and hopelessness of life apart from God. 1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders” will not inherit the kingdom of God.

God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that a person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for then to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.

However, the Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

My opinion really does not matter, what does God say about homosexuallity? Romans: chpt 1 vs 21-29 is the best explanation why homosexuallity exists. God is the author of peace not the author of confusion. Homosexuals "are" by choice just like love is a choice and their relationships are based primarily on sex. But this argument could and will go on untill the Lord returns, which could be any time now. God bless and never stop searching for pure truth.

No.
And if this is a project in a secular school, you are going to get into trouble for saying "no," because this is an intollerant answer.

Everywhere the Bible speaks to immorality, and sexual sin, it is condemned.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

Galatians 5:19-21
19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,
20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,
21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Romans 1:26-27
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

The standard that Jesus set out when He forgave the woman taken in adultery was "Stop sinning."
John 8:11
She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more."
1 Corinthians 15:34
Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

Yes. To say a homosexual can't be a Christian, is the same thing as saying Any Sinner can not be a Christian. According to the Bible, people sin every day (I believe in the Old Test it specifically says that a righteous man sins 7 x's a day - and that's a Righteous man!). To exclude even one "sinner" means to exclude them all.

Besides, if we take Christianity at it's word... if you break one law, you've broken them all. So even sinning in a way that appears to be a lesser sin than homosexuality, really isn't. If you commit adultery, it's the same thing as committing homosexuality - according to the Bible and Christianity.

The definition of Christian is "a follower of Jesus." Anyone can say they are a follower of Christ, so yes, a homosexual can be a Christian. This can also be true of a murderer, an adulterer, a thief, a child abuser.

Paul actually said alot of things were "wrong" - along with homosexuality, Paul also said that blood transfusions, meat from strangled animals and women in the church were "evil" and not to be tolerated. He also discouraged marriage, saying that it would distract those who needed to be ministers, but if you "had" to marry to keep yourself from committing a sin of the flesh, than do so.

The extremist Christians on an ego trip will say no you cannot. But consider Christianity is a religion of love and forgiveness.

Therefore someone who is Christian and is gay is a sinner but Christ welcomed sinners who repented so- yes of course you can be a Christian and gay.

Those Christians who answer and say you cannot show not just their ignorance of their own religion but sadly show that the more fundamental Christians exhibit hatred, hell and damnation rather than recognizing the love and forgiveness that Jesus preached.

Perhaps if they give their ego a rest and ask forgiveness they will be saved!

No.

But there can be homosexuals in church who know that they are sinful and are trying to repent.

Can a druggie be a chrisitan? No their sinful ways cannot identify them with Christ but all are welcomed to try to be freed.

The worst would be a self-righteous "homosexual christian" who proclaim there way as righteous when it is unholy. It is the same as a father who is a child-molestor who still preaches. They are both sexually immoral.

Many false cults allow for homosexuals to even become Christians. They are not church. Church is supposed to admonish and build up.

In Romans 1:25-27, it is commanded for us not to give ourselves up in "unnatural ways". God said if you truly love me, you would obey.

All Christian's are UNITED through BAPTISM in the name of the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit.

Homosexual's have what we call a "Cross" to bear. We heterosexuals do pray for homosexuals. However, as Catholic are taught to recognize their affliction, and treat them with other sinners and their crosses. You might find the writings of Christopher West helpful:

"6. Homosexual to Heterosexual.

" ... Any other desire or attraction is like cold in the absence of heat, or darkness in the absence of light. Cold cannot "change" into heat. The presence of heat vanquishes cold. Darkness doesn't "Change" into light. The presence of light vanquishes darkness.

Similarly, homosexuals don't "change" into heterosexuals. Men and women simply become what they are. That is, as the sun rises in the cold and darkness, men & women who struggle with same sex attraction can and do experience warmth and light. The truth of sexuality can and does vanquish distortions of sexuality. ..... ..... .... We must remember, however, that it's precisely "the cross" from which we receive the power to "become what we are". This means suffering. This means dying to a lifetime of diseased ways of thinking and behaving. This means letting go of the very thing, perhaps, in which a person has posited his identity, and re-positing that identity in the death and resurrection of Christ.

This means "it ain't easy". I wouldn't want to imply that a person with same sex attraction could simply rid him or herself of it just by praying hard enough or having enough faith. For those who have experienced transformation, most will attest that it comes slowly and painfully. It comes only if a person is willing to pick up his or her cross every day. And sometimes the cross gets heavier before it gets lighter.

So the answer to the question ( can homosexuals change to heterosexual) with all proper clarifications, is yes. As numerous "former homosexuals" demonstrate, it is possible for a person even with predominate same-sex attraction, if he or she is willing and receives the proper counseling, to experience rightly ordered sexual attraction. This doesn't mean, for whatever reason, that it always happens. Nor is a person loved any less by God if he or she doesn't experience such a change.

But it is possible, and that should be a source of great hope for those who are seeking to overcome their struggle with same sex attractions. It should also be noted that clinical experience seems to demonstrate that to the degree a person has lived actively as a homosexual, it's more difficult to experience rightly ordered sexual desire. Conversely, those who experience the attraction but haven't acted on it usually experience transformation of their sexual desires more readily." (pgs. 151-152)"
