Mumy's boy is used in England, as mommy's boy is used here in the United States. So do you still need help with this one? I live with one; he's in constant contact with his mother and has a need to live close to her, and vise-versa, with no age barrier!

In America, the term "mama's boy" usually refers to a man who has no domestic skills of any kind. Someone who has always had their mother do everything - laundry, dishes, cleaning, etc.
It can also refer to a man who cannot make any decisions on his own without first consulting his mother.
It is also referenced in a marriage where the wife is constantly competing for the attention and affection of her husband against the mother-in-law.

I've always heard and used it as "mommy's boy". A mommy's boy is generally shy and sheltered from the real world. When they get to be adults, they still have to call their mother every day, visit every day, and still do what their mother says, even if they're married. It's like they lack independence and don't want to cut the strings between them and their mother.

well i know "mommy's boy" means a boy who is always with his mother and doesn't hang out with other people...he would obey his mother's orders and stuff
