He doesnt seem to help people. He doesnt seem make anything else. Do you think he must be a bit lazy? or do you think he doesnt exist? or do you think you should have faith that he is doing something even though there is nothing to show for it?

Good question. Somehow his big miracles end after the Bible ends. Of course you can point on every single event of healing or near death. But is that the deed of a god? Or just damn luck, the self healing capacity of your own body or coincidence.
I don't see any progress in our environment or with starving children without the help of men. So if a god exists, he doesn't care much. We have to help ourselves, not rely on a higher being.

But, right, we still have the big 'afterlife event' where all good who suffered and criminals who lived a life in luxury get paid off. (that was meant to be sarcastic ;))

I'm going through hell right now because of questioning the God thing. I'm having a problem accepting the word of people who did not experience God at all, but have the audacity to tell us with all the authority in the world what God wants, is, needs and demands as though they have all the inside information and they'll let us know in increments called the Gospels which are repeated over and over year after year because someone doesn't feel like interpreting more of the zillions of stories in that Book.

--WHAT IN THE WORLD do you think maintains all the MARVELOUS systems on earth, in the heavens, your human body, etc.

--WHO MAINTAINS THESE THINGS--your evolutionary scientists?
--DO YOU maintain your body when it needs it?
--HOW about your car?
--HOW about your house?

--WHAT DO YOU not think?

(Isaiah 40:26) 26 “Raise YOUR eyes high up and see. Who has created these things? It is the One who is bringing forth the army of them even by number, all of whom he calls even by name. Due to the ABUNDANCE IN DYNAMIC ENERGY(my caps), he also being vigorous in power, not one [of them] is missing."

--Who is in control of that abundant "dynamic energy"?
--THAT BIBLICAL TEXT was written over 2,500 years ago!
--EINSTEIN formulated what that text says E=mc2 ONLY about 100 years ago!
--CAN YOU POSSIBLY put together as Einstein and other THINKING scientists that there is indeed a GREAT personalility in maintaining as is said above the heavens in saying "NOT ONE OF THEM(celestial bodies) IS MISSING"--

To many reasoning minds, the explanation simply has to be something more than mere coincidence. John Polkinghorne, formerly a physicist at Cambridge University, concluded: “When you realize that the laws of nature must be INCREDIBLY FINE TUNED(my caps) to produce the universe we see, that conspires to plant the idea that the universe did not just happen, but that there must be a purpose behind it.”

Australian physicist Paul Davies made a similar point: “There is no doubt that many scientists are . . . scornful of the notion that there might exist a God, or even an impersonal creative principle.” He added: “Personally I do not share their scorn. . . . I cannot believe that our existence in this universe is a mere quirk of fate, . . . an incidental blip in the great cosmic drama.”

--OR DO you believe in a world that never needs maintainance?

God does more than ever.

God created the heavens and the earth. He worked on the environmental.

God chose the Israelites. He built community.

God sent Christ to die for our sins. He worked on individual's eternity.

God today works for the hearts of everyone of the individuals. You, I - everyone has direct access if they choose to speak directly to him.

Imagine getting 999,999 emails every minute!

Funny Atheist, you'll always want to learn more about God. You cannot talk about faith if you don't understand it, what he does do is take care of his people. Why doesn't he help you? Let me see, you make fun of him, you don't believe in him, or maybe you hate him for no reason. How do you want him to act if you don't believe in him? It's called faith. Laterz dude.

I prayed that God would forgive me of my sin and my evil life and how selfish I was, and change me into someone who can love others more than I love myself. HE DID THAT! IN ONE INSTANT OF TIME GOD DID A CLEANSING IN MY LIFE ON
THE INSIDE SO THAT I WAS PHYSICALLY CLEANSED AND SPIRITUALLY AWAKENED IN SUCH A WAY THAT THERE WAS NO CHANCE OF DOUBT. HE REMOVED 17 YEARS OF CIGARETTE ADDICTION WITHOUT ANY OF THE WITHDRAWALS PEOPLE GO THROUGH, 12 YEARS OF EXCESSIVE DRINKING, SIX YEARS OF DRUG USE, A VERY FILTHY MOUTH AND STRONG LUST FOR WOMEN
SO THAT FOR THE FIRST TWO YEARS OF MY NEW LIFE AS A CHRISTIAN THE ONLY CONCERN I HAD FOR THE OPPOSITE SEX WAS WHETHER THEY WERE READY TO
MEET GOD WHEN THEY DIED. THESE MAJOR CHANGES TOOK PLACE IN AN INSTANT OF TIME.

I prayed that the Lord would give me a wife that loved Him more than she loved me, and HE DID. WE HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR OVER 28 YEARS, AND GOD GAVE US SEVEN CHILDREN AND OUR WHOLE FAMILY KNOWS AND LOVES AND SERVES THE LORD.

My wife and I prayed that God would give us a boy first so that
if we had girls later they would have a big brother to look out for them and protect them. God gave us three sons first, and then he gave us two daughters. THEN HE GAVE US ONE MORE SON AND ANOTHER DAUGHTER because the youngest would need a big brother after the others were gone
from our home and in college or married.

I have prayed against demonic forces, and have watched in awe AS GOD USED ME TO CAST OUT DEVILS IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. THE DEMONS EVEN TALKED, BUT WERE SILENCED WHEN COMMANDED.
MY FIRST EXPERIENCE IN THIS ARENA OF SPIRITUAL COMBAT WAS A LITTLE FRIGHTENING, BUT AS I CAME TO UNDERSTAND GOD'S POWER OVER THE DEVIL, THE FEAR LEFT FROM THE SECOND ENCOUNTER ON.

I could go on and tell you of experiences of praying for my children to be healed and they were immediately healed. I have also prayed for other people to be healed and they were
also healed. I have had people pray for me to be healed and received healing in my body as well.

There are so many answered prayers in my life in the past 33+ years that it would take a book to write them all, but this should clarify what it means to pray and see God answer.

As far as God being lazy - you are the one who could be easily accused of being lazy since you don't seem to think it is important for you to check this out for yourself by studying the Bible and learning all about your Creator! If you put forth the slightest "honest effort" to learn about God and what He is doing He would show you things that would help you see how ridiculous your question really is!

God does exist.Another thing that he does is that he watches everything that we are doing.God knows everything what's going on in the world. God is in every heart. For example if you punched a friend you might think that it happens usually so that is why you did it.But the person you might have punched is God. God becomes hurt too.God isn't lazy.God is doing His work.

no, you are wrong, God DOES help us. You have to want to help yourself though. That is a bit ignorant of you to say God is lazy. He will guide you and help you make the best decisions for your life, but you need to pray to Him, believe in Him, and most importantly listen to Him!

How about keeps the Sun from falling on the Earth and rivers from flooding and killing everyone. But most of all He gives you every breath that you take in every day.

He walks with me every step of every day. I can honestly say that he does a great deal. He has healed me from a debilitating disease, he has guided my footsteps into a place that allows me to proclaim his word by example as well as in text, and lastly he has given me power over myself and Satan. I would say that I definately have something to show for it...
