Hi everyone! I have heard the saying 'a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips' and just wondered if this applies more to so called 'bad foods'. What I mean is when you eat a chocolate bar do all the fat and calories go straight where you don't want them to i.e. legs, bum, tum, whereas a good, balanced meal would sit comfortably on your arms??? Is weight, just weight or does it depend what you eat, where it sits on your body? I know this may seem a bizarre, and rather badly expressed question, but if anyone can relieve my confusion I would be very grateful! Thank you, best regards.

no such thing.,..

genetics tells the body where and when to store fat. the body does not know the source of nutrients . the body can't tell the difference between sugars derived from fruits or candy or amino acids from a piece of chicken or whey protein

It depends. Not everyone's food goes to their hips. It's all in the genes. Some people and their family, it goes to the thights, others the middle, and sometimes, people do have food sit on their hips because of such a fast matabolism. But if someone in you family has fat hips, like your mother or father (no offense) then you will probably have a problem with food sitting on your hips. everyone is defferent.

The basic correct answer to your question is "sugar", or any food with sugar in it.

Your body will burn sugar to create energy, but when there is an excess of sugar (which is usually) then your body knows it is not needed so it is turned and stored as fat cells.

This is why the only way to lose fat is to burn more calories (exercise more) and/or take in less sugar. And that is why using diet pills never works, because when you stop taking them them you start taking in too much sugar again and put the fat back on.

Some people carry thier weight round there middle others put it on all over................it's really an individual thing although women are more prone to carrying the weight round the hips, tum and bum. Thats why you'll hear that some people are apple shaped and some are pear shaped...apple shaped are all round the belly and pear are round the hips and bum.

Don’t finish every last morsel in your plate, but leave a mouthful as well as two. This clever little strategy means your host doesn’t present to refill your plate, and you also don’t feel tempted to choose seconds.
