Take a look at bakers and grocery stores and see what they charge. If I went to the grocery store I could by a plain banana bread loaf for any where between $1.00 (Sara Lee) to $8.00 and up (depending on the additional ingredients that are in the bread)
For a basic loaf I would say to charge about $5.00.
Chocolate or peanut butter chip banana bread $5.50
Once you start adding dried fruit (strawberries, blue berries or cranberries) I would charge around $7.00 - $8.00.
My favourite that I have made and sold is a banana bread with freeze dried blueberries and yogurt. Very yummy. I sold it for $7.00 and it did great.

Best of luck in your selling adventures.

P.S. I also feel that the price also depends on your location. I live in a small town, prices are a little bit lower than in the city. But... If you live in a small town that has a lot of tourists, you could charge city prices. Just something to think about.

Most likely ti will be sold to your family and friends on order bases so check out what you can buy the same thing for in the stores and put your price as high or higher than then.

f you want to do this as a way to earn aliving then there are permits you have to have such as from the health department, fire department, tax numbers and probably some local ones like zoning s well.

Have fun.

Around here (Napa Valley) it would be considered an artisan bread and you could probably get $7-8 easily for it at a boutique bakery.

But it depends not only on the cost of your ingredients, but packaging and your time. I'd go with at least 3X your cost, but you could go a little higher depending on your local market.

I think it depends on where you are going to sell it. Depending on the location you are in, there are various cost issues to consider. I would suggest you think about actual costs of ingredients, cost of labor (for example $10 per hour) and then a profit premium (perhaps of about 30% to 50%) if you are just selling direct.

if you wanna make profit you'd have to sell for at least triple the cost of making it. any less and you wont be getting anything for your labour. I'd probably price it anywhere from $5-$9 depending on where I'm selling it.

That would be dumber than a sack of hammers, just buy one loaf and one lily. Stores seldom return grocery items.

Calculate the cost to you to make the bread then multiply that by three and that is what you should charge.

Home made I would say $4.00-$5.00 per loaf...another idea is make mini loaves...$2.00-$3.00 each...more likely to sell more...good luck!
