If you booked on Expedia you will have an airline confirmation number. Go onto the airlines website and retrieve your reservation using your airline confirmation number. You should be able to see if there are seats together - you can then move everyone around so that they are sitting together. Failing that - call the airline and ask them to seat you together. Even if the flight is full they can usually flag your reservation so that on the day of the flight an agent can try to seat you together.

Check with the airlines that you are flying with. Call them and see if they can reseat all together. If the flight is full, then you'll have take what they have assigned you. However, Get to the airport early and check in . They will work with you. They have done it for me. Show up early. Or once on the aircraft, talk to the flight attendant and see if she can ask others to change seats so that you all can sit together.

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOU CHECK IN!!! Call the airline and explain the situation and ask if they can reseat your party so you're all sitting together. If you wait until you check in, chances are you won't be able to get seats together, especially if the flight is full as other passengers will have begun checking in. Most flights that are full or oversold will not allow seat changes during check in or at the gate.

In my experience on web sites like travelocity, the tickets are merely etickets and can be modified upon check in.
I normally show up very early and check in at the counter vs. the self check-in. In every case, I have been able to request seating on the plane. I'm not sure if this is due to the plane being empty, or the carrier policy or what...
Best thing to do is to call the airline at the particular airport you are flying out of and request seating. I'm sure they can work out an arrangement. Also, you may just want to show up early at the check in counter and try to request seating before the majority of the passengers check in.

Get everyone to the airport early and smile real nice at the person checking you in. They can usually help you get seats close together. If that doesn't work then you can ask the flight attendant to help you when you board the plane - be super sweet and nice.

When you check in at the airport ask them if they can sit you together if you do not have your assigned seats yet or say that on your ticket their is a mistake and we are all traveling together but we are sitting all apart. If they don't allow you , you could ask them if you can trade with someone to make sure you are all sitting together.

call the airline or go to their websites, some will let you change at check in, but if everyone else is already doing that your chances of getting seats together is not so good.
Best of luck.

when you check-in, most airlines ask you where you want to sit on the flight. So maybe you can change the seating arrnagement.
