I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
Those who believe they control their own destiny are fools. Who would choose to get sick and die? Who chooses to have their health fail and lose everything and have to go live in a nursing home? Today I will say goodbye to my mother. She is on her deathbed. She did not choose to be there. Many years ago she did choose to follow Jesus and that has given her strength to suffer. My decision to do the same is what is giving me the strength to be with her. I know that we will be together again. Then she will not be suffering. This new age mumbo jumbo about controling your own destiny is just the latest example of self being manifested as philosophy. It is an empty end. If one's entire existence is aimed toward material success, sure they may well achieve it, but to what end? This life is only a brief interlude. Wear it loosely.

Yes. I control my own destiny by believing and following the teachings of Christ. It is my choice. Since becoming a Christian, my life has been filled with power that is far beyond anything that I would have been able to do on my own. I have been healed of a dabilitating disease, have been made about ten years physically younger as far as energy levels are concerned and have found that my positive influence on those around me has grown tremendously. All this, and peace within. Life is great even if filled with many challenges.

Yes it does. But it takes practice and it means taking full reponsibility for your own life. People cling to the notion that we're not in control. Sure, things happen in our lives that we can't control, but it's how we react to those things and events that will determine if you believe that you control your destiny.
The most successfully happy people have this power to trancend events and take control of how they feel about it. Feelings produce your perception, that produces behaviour and that produces the end result.
Seems so simple, yet we've been conditioned to think that we have no control.
Hope this helps!
Sincerely.

Only extremely manipulative people can say they live as though they control their destiny, otherwise there are so many things happening in day to day life over which you have no control........

I live as if I were in control of my own density....... that would explain why I am so thick.
You have power over your life. No one planned it out. You only lose that power why you let someone else tell you how to live.

Fate controls your destiny. Thru chi, karma, whatever, you cannot do anything about it but either accept it or move to the next dimension.

Compare it to DRIVING a car, as apposed to RIDING in the backseat. Which is more powerful? Which has more control?

I never had such a powerful life until I totally surrender to Jesus and turned my decisions over to him
